It happened quicker than he could prepare himself for. The click of the gun he thought that this was where it ended. Everything else faded around him. The broken table leg in his hold from earlier fell out of his hand and bounced onto the floor, but it was as if the noise was nonexistent to Haechan.

"Haechan, duck!"

It was too late. The shot had been fired. He was about to die.

But why didn't he feel anything? He was frozen in fear thinking about only one thing: Mark. Where was Mark? Was he witnessing what was happening? Haechan felt like he let everyone down. Especially Mark.

He looked in front of him as he laid on the ground after being pushed just then. Kun had fallen before him, he was the one who was shot.

Haechan couldn't wrap his mind around the fact that Kun just risked his life for the younger. The sadness crept into him like a disease spreading quickly.

Suddenly, shouts were nearing them and then followed by more gunshots, but this time, their attacker went down.

"Haechan," the younger looks down at Kun, as the older was bleeding out the front of his right shoulder. The bleeding was profuse and didn't seem to slow. He was glad to know he wasn't hit in his lungs or any vital organs. At least, he had a chance of surviving, or so the younger hoped. He couldn't be sure of anything at this moment.

"You have to find her. I promise you," he pauses to wince at the pain. "I promise, she can keep you safe. Please, find her." Who was she? Kun briefly told him where she was located, but he didn't know anything about her. How does she know how to protect him? Maybe there actually were others like him out there.

Two bodies immediately present themselves beside Haechan. "Kun?!" The younger feels tears running down his face.

Johnny takes over with analyzing Kun while Mark rubs the younger's back. "It's hard to tell if he's still breathing," Johnny takes note. Mark pulls him closer, hiding him from watching Kun die before them.

"Haechan, are you hurt at all? I'm sorry for leaving you behind I should have been protecting you."

Haechan tries to twist in the older's hold to check on Kun, but Mark kept trying to distract him. "Is he okay though?!? Let me go I need to make sure he's okay." The older finally gives in, opening his arms slightly.

Haechan was shaking as he saw how at peace Kun looked. He saved him. Kun saved him. How did he let that happen? How could Haechan have let the older die for him?! The thoughts bounced around his head making him feel dizzy.

What Kun had said before resonated in his mind. Haechan needed to get out of here.

He shakily stands up, making him even more dizzy, but he shakes it off. He glances around the room, at the scene of the chaos. The gunshots had finally ceased. He noticed Xiaojun and Lucas seated by a wall trying to catch their breath. Then he glanced at over at Taeyong who's leg seemed to be healed up as best as it could, but he was holding Jaehyun. A shaky breath left Haechan's mouth.

Jaehyun was struggling to breath while he was lying on the ground with his head in Taeyong's lap. It didn't look like he was bleeding out too badly, but his arm had a huge gash running down the side of it. He noticed how Taeyong was sobbing and was saying something to Jaehyun, but it didn't seem like the younger was conscious enough to hear. He could feel the emotional pain radiating off of Taeyong.

Maybe he really did need to get out of here. For the safety of the gang. He was the reason they were in this mess to begin with. He cost them their lives. He just let them die and for what?

He finds the door that led him out to the front hallway. Before he could leave the room, he turns to find his eyes locking with his favorite pair of eyes.

They showed sorrow and hurt. A strangled shout reaches him from where he was just at. Mark was pleading for him to stay. Except, the older knew what he was leaving for. Kun spoke to him awhile back. It still didn't stop the hurt from arising and the longing, for wanting his lover to stay, grow.

Seeing that flash across the older's face made the younger's guilt grow even more. He hated that he let down Mark. He hated that he just let everyone get hurt because of him. It was his fault they were all here to begin with.

Haechan mouthed three words before turning around and walking out.

I love you

The door of the banquet hall feels heavy against his hands. No amount of power could withstand this moment and fight off the guilt he felt. This is what was needed to happen, though. For their protection as well as his.

Haechan found the front entrance door, but before he could actually walk outside, a movement caught his eye from his left side. His head whips to the source.

His dad stood there, a malicious smirk planted on his face.
