The city grew on Haechan. Everything about it excited him. There was so much for him to experience and see. Most days he practiced his photography skills, which became almost an obsession for him.
He even ended up trying out for a local dance studio for a bit since Yeri told him he should get some hobbies while she was away for work. Disney movies all day didn't cut it for her.
Yeri became like his big sister. They grew so close in the short time and Haechan was grateful. He felt safe again.
They were constantly working on his powers to get him where he was the most comfortable with them and it soon became easy for him to hold a lot of accuracy.
It was getting colder out and the leaves were turning orange. Haechan had his camera with him all day and every second he had to stop to capture a moment in the nature or the scenery around him. It was all so beautiful to him and caused him so much happiness.
His friend, Jongho, decided to join him. They had met at the dance studio one day and bonded over how much they both loved pizza. It ended up becoming a tradition for them to go get some after every dance practice and their friendship grew from there."
"Jongho, hold this leaf, please."
Jongho did as he was asked and held the leaf exactly how the older showed him.
"No, you're doing it wrong. It needs to go like this." Haechan moved the leaf just slightly, which confused Jongho.
"That's exactly how I had it! What do you mean it's wrong?" Jongho scuffed.
"Because it is." Haechan smiles satisfied at the leaf's position.
"Well, your face is wrong."
"Excuse me? Your hair is wrong!"
"You know what? I'm not holding this leaf anymore," Jongho says, letting the leaf fall dramatically to the ground.
Haechan notices this and decides to quickly capture the leaf's motions. "Aha! That's perfect! I got it. Thank you, Jongho."
The younger rolls his eyes playfully at him. "You're ridiculous."
"Yeah and you love it," Haechan smirks. "Okay, I'm done for today. You wanna come over and annoy Yeri with me? She's making spaghetti for dinner."
Jongho agrees and the two make their way back to Haechan's house, bickering about who was better, Spiderman or Iron man.
"Yeri!" Haechan shouts, as he enters the small home.
"Haechan, this place is really tiny for you to shout like that. Please. Hey, Jongho. How are you-" Yeri stops herself from finishing the question, worry painted on her face immediately.
"Are you okay?" Haechan asks, as the worry takes over him as well.
"Hey, Jongho, you should probably leave. I don't think tonight is going to be-" she pauses again. Then she turns to Haechan.
"I hear someone. It doesn't sound good, but I think they're looking for you." Yeri begins freaking out. Jongho was getting even more confused, especially with the part about her hearing something he wasn't able to hear.
Yeri immediately dead bolts the door and assures that it is completely locked. Fear and confusion took ahold of all three. Jongho, for obvious reasons, but Haechan and Yeri were confused as to how someone found him here. He thought he was done with people being after him.
"So, uhm, Jongho," Haechan whispers to Jongho, as they crouched in the kitchen away from the windows. "Fun fact, we have super powers."
Jongho looked at his friend in disbelief. "I don't think this is a good time to be funny."
"I wish I was joking. I'm from a lab, well actually we both coincidentally are, and uhm, yeah people are after me for escaping. I didn't want to bring you into this, but I might have to leave again and I don't want to leave you in the dark." Haechan's voice became softer as he kept talking, sadness evident in his words. He didn't know what was happening.
A loud bang startled the three from their moment. They remained as still and as silent as they could.
"I'm going to go see who it is and try to deter them away from here. You two stay as hidden as you can." Yeri instructs them to get behind one of the couches as she greets the unexpected visitor.
"Hi, can I help you?" She asks the mystery person.
A male who didn't look to be that much older than her, portrayed a look of annoyance. "I know you have him. Give him over and I won't hurt you."
Yeri gulps, "You have the wrong person. I don't know who you're talking about. Now please leave or I'll call the police."
"No, that's not necessary." He whips out a small gun and points it at her head. "Now, politely show me where Lee Donghyuck is."
