It's been taking us awhile to remodel the first floor of the house after the damage that had been done. For the first time since I got here, I was able to leave the house and I got to tag along with to go to the store. It was Mark, Johnny, Jungwoo, Chenle, Jaemin, Jeno, Yangyang, Yuta, and I. So, it was a whole circus of us walking around.
I don't think I've ever seen a store this big, it was all for furniture and decor. There was a section for beds, which Yangyang and Jungwoo quickly went to and immediately bounced themselves onto the mattresses, a section for chairs and sofas, a section for kitchen and living room decor, and furniture for bedrooms.
Mark left me so he could go explore the decor section, while Chenle had me follow him to the couches. They were all so beautifully designed, it almost seemed wrong to sit on them.
"So, you and Mark, huh? It's funny how you managed to get him wrapped around your finger," Chenle states, while going to sit on one of those chairs you lay your legs on. "He's usually a very independent person, who keeps to himself, but with you, it's like he has to slip in something relating to you in every conversation he has. You're special."
I feel my face go red from his comments. I didn't think Mark liked me a that much. I mean I haven't even been here too long. It kind of makes me feel good knowing I have someone who cares so deeply for me.
"You know, Jo- I mean, someone else has been trying to win Mark over for awhile now. It's weird to see how whipped Mark is and how fast he fell for you. That person isn't meant for Mark, though, and he knows it, but he still tried. Now that you're here, I think he's realizing that finally. I like you for Mark. I trust you, but, please, don't hurt him."
I don't think I would have the heart to even think about hurting him. He means too much to me already. I fell for him quickly, too. Maybe Mark and I were what we needed. I think about Chenle's words for awhile and a smile plants itself onto my face.
"What's with Smiley McGee over here?"
I drop my smile and turn to find Yangyang approaching us with an eyebrow perched up in question.
"He's in love, Yangyang."
"Well, actually, I-I- uh," I can barely get a response out from being flustered at Chenle's words. Yangyang stops me, "It's okay, Haechannie. It's cute and we could really use the positive emotion in the house. Also, don't tell anyone, but Ten is in love with Hendery."
"What?! Since when?! I thought he liked Johnny? I'm so lost. That love triangle is going nowhere."
While Chenle and Yangyang bicker about who's in love with who, a loud amount of yelling is going on in the kitchen decor section, which captures our attention.
It was Yuta. You could see how pissed he was becoming. It was hard to hear what he was saying, but it was evident that he wasn't going to calm down anytime soon.
"Okay, nows the time. Let's do this. Since they're distracted, grab some items. I managed to find some bags by the register," he begins, handing us said bags. "Fill them up quickly. We have to run anyways. Yuta will pull out his gun and then we'll need to get him out of here. He does this everytime we go to the store. He has anger issues." Yangyang and Chenle start stuffing their bags with items nearby and gesture for me to follow suit.
I stay frozen in place, before Yangyang gives me another look and then I begin to grab a couple of random nearby items. I never expected for myself to do this, but it was kind of thrilling. I giggle to myself at the excitement.
More yelling was added on top of Yuta's and I immediately recognize Johnny's voice. I glance at the commotion and notice a glint of silver in Yuta's jacket pocket. Wait, shit. He really does have a gun.
"Guys," I begin. Yangyang cuts me off by grabbing my arm and pulling me out of the store along with Chenle. What about the rest of the group?
"There's a reason we always park further away. In case we get into situations like this, we can have an easy escape route and not have to worry about other cars parked next to us. Run, they're leaving the store and we need to start the car."
I don't hesitate to get moving quickly.
It was like watching a scene in a movie, from my seat in the car. The way they ran out of the store like those slow motion scenes of the people running away from an explosion. Except this wasn't a movie, this was real, and there was no explosion, thankfully.
"Are we all here? Okay, good. Step on it, Yangyang," Johnny announces as soon as everyone crams into the car. We hastily make our exit, leaving the chaos behind.
