Lauren and Ally stared each other in the eyes they fell in love with and smiled like idiots as everyone clapped for Kem as he walked to sit down.
"You look stunning," Lauren mouthed to the Latina, making Ally blush harder and drop her head.
"You do too," She mouthed back as the band ended the song and the priest called for everyone's undivided attention.
The priest signals for everyone to be seated. Ally and Lauren quickly hand the bouquets to Normani and Dinah before standing only a few feet apart and their hands glued together.
"We gather here today to unite these two people in marriage." Begins the priest. He stood tall behind the two women, his salt and pepper hair subtly atop his head. With a warm smile, he continued. "Today they publicly declare their devotion to each other. The essence of this commitment is the acceptance of each other in entirety, as lover, companion, and friend. A good and balanced relationship is one in which neither person is overpowered nor absorbed by the other, one in which neither person is possessive of the other, one in which both give their love freely and without jealousy."
He smiled at Lauren and Ally. He was Ally's preacher at the church she use to visit frequently before she moved to L.A. To see the little girl who went from being the churches favorite girl who they called "little superstar" who was one of the best singers in the youth choir to one of the most powerful singers and influential celebrities in the music industry all grown up and marry the person she loves made him proud.
"Marriage, ideally, is a sharing of responsibilities, hopes, and dreams." He resumed. "It takes a special effort to grow together, survive hard times, and be loving and unselfish."
He, again, looked at the two women and with a gracious smile, he said the following words. "Do you both pledge to share your lives openly with one another, and to speak the truth in love? Do you promise to honor and tenderly
care for one another, cherish and encourage each other, stand together, through sorrows and joys, hardships and triumphs for all the days of your lives?"Hearts pumping of delight and profound happiness, Ally and Lauren nodded and looked at him, the rush of bright sunlight causing Ally and Lauren to squint their eyes a little to catch a full glimpse of his face. "We do."
Dinah handed Ally Lauren's ring and Normani handed Lauren Ally's band. Since Lauren proposed, Lauren was instructed to only get a wedding band whereas Ally was already wearing her ring. However, Ally got Lauren a customized Cartier wedding ring; Lauren's favorite jewelry brand.
"May these rings be blessed as a symbol of your union. As often as either of you look upon these rings, may you not only be reminded of
this moment, but also of the vows you have made and the strength of your commitment to each other. With that, I am reminded that these two women before me have their vows prepared by mind and would like to say what's on their heart. Lauren, you may go first."Lauren takes Ally by her left hand buries her eyes deep into Ally's.
"Allyson," Lauren cleated her throat. She promised herself not to cry. But if Ally was to break, it would be impossible for her not to. "You are my light...and it doesn't matter what happens...in this life...as long as you're with me. When I look at you...I know that there's a God...and that he loved me so much...that he took the time to create you...just for me. I love you...past my mind...beyond my heart. I love you for my soul...and that's the space...where only you and God dwell. My loyalty for you stands beyond measure. With this ring," Lauren pauses and slides the ring carefully onto Ally's finger. "I promise...to love you each and everyday harder than I ever have from this day forward. I promise to cherish you....and protect you. I love you, Allyson Hernandez."
By now Lauren has teared up and tears had already fallen from the eyes of Ally. The priest looked Ally to give her the signal that it was her turn. She took a second to shake off her tears and cleared her throat. She readjust her hands in Lauren's and licked her lips as their eyes met.
"I never...thought that I could meet someone like you. You are my friend...you are my smile...you are my everything. You are a breath-taking reflection...of God's heart for me...of how he pursued me...and loved me...
even when I didn't love myself. You held my hand in the darkness...and you pulled me out into the light. Aside of what we've been through, you've shown me what it is love someone regardless of their baggage. With this ring," Ally looks down and places the ring on Lauren's finger, causing Lauren to taps lightly how beautiful it was and how the sun made it sparkle in a way she saw Ally eyes sparkle just like they did a few minutes ago. "I promise to always be by your side no matter what and be your number one fan in everything. I promise to support you and cherish you to the fullest. I also promise to protect you. I love you and all of you, Lauren Jauregui."The priest nods with a light smile and looks up to the audience of family and friends before him.
"Is there anyone this afternoon who thinks they should not marry?" He asks amongst the crowd of individuals. He waits up to five seconds as many heads shake in decline. He gave a light smile again and looked at the two women in front of him, holding hand in hand, eye to eye, and toe to toe, ready to begin a new life together.
"Go now in peace and live in love, sharing the most precious gifts you have—the gifts of your lives united. And may your days be long on this earth." He says before closing the interlining her fingers together and drop them down in front of him. With the biggest smile, he says the following words. "I now pronounce you married. You may share your first kiss as a wedded couple."
Lauren stems forwards and lifts Ally's chin and presses her lips softly against Ally's as her arms wrapped around the Latina's waist. Crowds cheered and clapped in joyfully and Ally threw her arms around Lauren's neck and deepened the kiss. Dinah and Normani looked at each other and giggled like two kids seeing their parents kiss.
They pulled away slowly and met eyes with smiles as they gazed out to their family and friends who clapped happily for them. Ally kissed Lauren's cheek before Lauren took her by the hand and they lifted the hems of their dresses and walked down the aisle.
Their parents, alongside Normani and Dinah followed behind them. They had to get ready for the reception which began in an hour and Normani and Dinah promised to host it so they and everyone else needed to be there before the couple of the hour arrived.
Hand in hand, Lauren and Ally ran into Chapel and sprinted down the halls and around the corners.
It took a few minutes to gather Ally and Lauren's family and special friends together for their photo shoot by the Madrid Riverwalk which led about a three minute walk from the chapel. It lasted up to about 35 minutes.
Lauren and Ally took infinite amount of pictures. Then Ally and the girls, Lauren and the girls, Lauren and her family. Ally and her family. Them and their families combined. Everybody together. Close-ups of Ally and Lauren together.
They planned to have a wedding portrait of them blown up like in a poster to frame and put on the wall. After Lauren and Ally got back from Texas with Ally's parents for the holidays, Ally moved into Lauren's three bedroom penthouse. It was bigger than Ally's two bedroom condo and lately they noticed that Ally was over Lauren's house more than the other way around. It's what they agreed on and felt most comfortable to do.
When all was over, they all rushed back to the chapel. Before Ally and Lauren separated to their individuals rooms to undress, they kissed.
"I love you and I'll see you in a minute." Lauren said quickly before pecking Ally's lips.
"Okay I love you!" Ally yelled as Preston opened the door and practically pushed Ally inside.
