New Year's Eve....

— Lauren —
Here's the plan; we all leave around 9 and head over to Aunt Valerie's house.

From Ally's mouth, she lives in the biggest house of the family and she has a beautiful backyard with a pool, jacuzzi, a grill and little patio set with much free green area to pop fire crackers.

We were at there right now. We had been for the last hour. The house was crowded.

Little kids ran back and forth throughout the house. People stood around laughing obnoxiously and talking loud over each other. The smell of cigarettes form out back filled the living room considering the sliding door was half open. The tv was on showing the New York Madison Garden New Years Eve Bash. Only a few people were actually sitting down and watching it, elderly people specifically. Music played aloud, I still don't know where it's coming from.

I couldn't find Ally when I came from the bathroom. I decided to go outside for some fresh air on the front porch because no one was crowding it. There were a few people down by the cars and everyone else was either in the house or in the backyard.

While in the middle of talking to Dinah on the phone, the door opened behind me. I was sitting on the steps.

I didn't pay any attention at first until I saw the person sit down beside me. I rolled my eyes and told Dinah I'd call her back.

"Can I help you?" I ask politely before staring forward at the night sky. Valerie's house on top of the hill at the end of her street. You could see all the houses up the street. You could see everything on her side of the neighborhood.

"I wanna talk to you." Julian says before lifting his red cup to his mouth.

"About what?" I shrugged. "If you wanna talk about Ally, I prefer not. Y'all aren't together anymore, we are. Get over it."

"And that's the problem." He nods. "You two are together."

"How is that the problem?"

"Because," he said. "You are always in her face, taking her attention from me."

"Look," I stood up. I know where this conversation is going and it's unnecessary and stupid. "It's New Year's Eve and I'm having a good time. I don't have time to sit here and go back and forth with you because you ended things with her. Things didn't work out between you two and that's too bad. This conversation isn't gonna go anywhere so don't even try it."

I walked up the steps to the door and walked in. i didn't even bother looking back. I mean why would I? That conversation was useless from the start. He was gonn pick an argument with me about how he deserves her and I don't and all that bullshit and no one wants to hear it. He had his shot, he blew it. That's that. Okay her family still loves you, so fucking what? Ally doesn't anymore. Move on.

I saw Ally come down the stairs and walked straight past me into the large crowd of her family. She didn't even see me. Wow.

I watched her go sit down on the couch and pull out her phone. I could see the look on her face that she was concerned. She was most likely wondering about my whereabouts which is why I caught her coming downstairs. I saw her whisper to Sierra and Sierra shrugged and pointed at Ally's phone. I guess she asked Sierra if she knew where I was. Sierra said something to her and stood up and went into the crowded kitchen and Ally went with her so I sat down in her spot, with hopes that she'd reside back here when she came out.
