Maura's PoV

It's amazing how much lighter I feel just from being able to hold a conversation with Jane, and that conversation going on for a few hours which neither of us realised. I find myself thinking in my third period as I finish off my grading from the first two lessons.

Pulling up the faculty schedule I smile seeing that Jane doesn't have anything for fourth or fifth period.
Opening up a new email I quickly type one out

Afternoon Mark,

Do you by any chance know if Jane is leaving after this period?

Regards

Maura

Maura!

As far as I'm aware she will be on site, organising for the band try outs, why? Is everything ok? How are things going?

Smiling I stand and explain the homework for my students just before the bell rings out for the end of the lesson. Waiting until my lab is empty I tidy away retrieve my bag and jacket lock up and head off.

Wandering around the mall trying to find a replacement mug is becoming some what a challenge. The final shop I can think of finally has a selection with quotes on not being able to decide I get three

A life without music would Bb

Sometimes music is the only thing that gets your mind off everything else

When words fail music speaks

Having them boxed and gift wrapped I head back to school, heading straight for the music department, I leave the gift wrapped box in front of Jane's office door smiling to myself I slip my heels off knock on her door and run up and out of the department. Laughing to myself as I enter my own office.

Settling down to do my lesson plans for next week seems as I have nothing else to do. My computer pinging notifies me of an email that's just come in.

Maura,

Playing knock and run?!

Thank you for the mugs it's very sweet...

I can't help but feel extremely happy right now that she took the time out to email me. Deciding I'll make myself a drink, dangerously loosing myself deep in thought it's only when out of my peripheral vision do I see someone making me panic and freeze whilst my breathing gets stuck in my chest.
