Maura's PoV

After telling Jane that I would meet her at the bar as she's insistent on playing a set even though I have advised her against it I know she's going to loose her voice, yet at the same time I know how much she needs to express herself.

Sam and Steven found it rather amusing that she had bought a ukulele, I on the other hand was rather annoyed when she wouldn't let me pay for it or the replacement guitar she got for Steven. Telling her that she shouldn't be wasting her money on instruments when she has bills to pay, after having a heated discussion she finally agreed to think about moving back home with me. Yet I did see her having fun with a double bass and I just know I am going to buy it for her without her knowing.

Pulling up out side the bar Tony greets me opening the car door for me.

"Evening Doc, how are you?"

"Good thanks Tony how about you? Busy tonight?" I ask

"I'm good thanks, it's not too busy but wait till you see what she's done in there with the kid, Sam said he will be back soon after he dropped them off earlier." He smiles at me

"Has she started yet?" I ask, Tony shakes his head holding the bar door open for me "Tony stand inside tonight the weathers turning again." Walking through to the bar looking across the room I smile seeing all the small tables and chairs that they have set up with a candle in jars on them allowing everyone to sit down.

"Hey babe" Jane husks wrapping an arm around me planting a kiss to my cheek once I have walked behind the bar to her at the bottom end near the stage looking at what she's writing I scan it seeing it's a set list

"I like the tables Jane, very intimate"

"Mmm thought we could try it out seems as Sunday's is quieter and acoustic night kinda sets a theme you know?"

Bending down into a fridge pulling a water out handing it to her grabs her attention leaning into her ear I purr

"As much as I love when you're husky, don't loose your voice please go easy tonight" I can't help but nibble on her ear lobe feeling a smirk form on her face I release her

"We have the booth Maura you coming?" Steven asks approaching me

"Who's we Sam's not here yet... Tony told me" I laugh seeing the confusion on his face

"Frost and Nina"

"Barry's here?" I asked shocked looking at Jane

"Yep, spoke to him earlier kinda sorted stuff out and besides look at him..." Jane laughs pulling a cigarette packet out from behind the bar I snatch it off her

"No! No cigarettes Jane! I scold

"Pass me a bottle then" she counters shrugging knowing I will give up

"Fine! But the minuet you loose your voice don't complain to me!" I try to stay angry at her but I can't looking over to Frost his eyes are locked on to Nina.

"Babe... how would I complain if I loose my voice" Jane chuckles resting her head on my shoulder

"You know what I mean sweetie" I sigh turning around to face her

"I know you're just too cute, now I need to go play, see you after.." she kisses me pulling the cigarettes out from my loosening grip taking an ashtray with her.
