Let Me In (book 2 - follow on from Abandoned)

Jane's PoV

Noticing Maura heading for the door with Kyle gives me a knotting feeling in my stomach causing me to frown wanting to get through the song that we have fallen into playing Issac gets my attention he saw it too so I know he will keep the guys playing allowing me to leave. Tony's profile comes into view as he walks behind the bar towards the office I can see he's carrying someone. Maura and Kyle seem to be having an heated discussion as they follow Tony.

As soon as I have sang the last lyric hastily placing the guitar down I jump off the side of the stage and go into the office that Tony and Kyle are now leaving

"Boss" Tony acknowledges me heading out, forcing me to look at him questionably I'm not going to get used to that.

"Maura what the... is that Steven?! What the hell happened?!?" I ask in shock looking at him whilst Maura tries to bring him round.

"Steven, Steven come on its Doctor Isles.. that's it... wake up.. you're ok.. you're safe.." Maura reassures him as he comes around in a panicky state.

"Ste... what happened?" I ask once he's calmed downed

"I.. I was coming here I wanted to see if you both were here, I needed to talk to you.. they wouldn't let me in or listen to me... so I went to leave but that's when they dragged me in the ally and attacked me.."

"Who attacked you Steven?" Maura asks calmly

"Dean, Harry and..." He trails off looking at me before looking down

"And Who Steven?" I ask more firmly than I had intended making Maura shoot me a look

"T..Tommy.." Steven whispers not looking at either of us

"Tommy as in Rizzoli? As in my little brother?"

"Yes.."

"Take him to my place. Get Tony to walk you." I snap grabbing my jacket and removing my bike key from my set of keys placing the rest on the desk

"Jane where are you.." Maura try's

"I'll fucking kill him." Is all I snap as I throw the door open slipping out of the back door and heading the two blocks to get my bike peeling away to face my mother for the first time in years.

"Ja..Jane!" She squeals opening the door

"Where the fuck is he!" I yell stepping quickly back away from her advances

"Who?"

"Tommy!" I shout from the path for Frankie to appear behind her

"He's not here Jane, what's going on? You ok?" Frankie tells me coming closer to the door

"Get him under fucking control! He just attacked a kid with his pals! He's just like his father! You want him following in his footsteps, sitting in the cell next to him?! Sort it fucking out!" I yell getting back on my bike. I take off for the harbour I need to calm down before going anywhere and before I end up wrecking my bike.

Sat staring across the water I can feel the air getting trapped in my chest followed by the panic, I haven't had a full blown panic attack for a long time, fumbling for my phone i instantly hit dial on Maura's name.

"Jane! Where are you!" She answers on the second ring only I can't answer her I can't breathe hearing a ringing through the phone moving it from my ear I look at my screen and accept the FaceTime call that's coming in, Maura's beautiful face coming into view

"Sweetie you're ok, look at me and breathe you're having a panic attack. Take a deep breath and let it go... that's it... keep breathing..." she smiles at me with worry in her eyes as she talks me down
