Let Me In (book 2 - follow on from Abandoned)

Jane's PoV

After getting everything inside and into the music room I was shocked that the item that was in the car, was in fact the double bass I had seen when we last went.

"This is the last thing honey" Maura says entering the room with a box that had been gift wrapped as I was just re positioning everything so that it would fit, we agreed that we will get some wall mounts for the stands for my guitars, saxophones and violin to free up some floor space the piano has been moved so it is no longer in the middle of the room however where it now sits with its tail into a corner the acoustics still are amazing in the room also freeing up some space for the Bass, Cello and the small desk which now houses the recording instruments until I get a longer and thinner counter made up. So I'm able to use the desk for my work.

"Babe? Seriously.." I husk

"I actually got you this the other day, I know you use the schools and the one at the bar but you don't have one for here and well I wanted you to be able to work when and where ever you wanted, I know it's important to you not only for work it's self but it's important for your music too, your producing and.."

"Maur.. breathe your rambling" I chuckle as she blushes handing it to me taking it along with her hand I pull her down onto me into one of the armchairs and unwrap it as she sits on my lap

"Maura... it's perfect.. thank you" I cant help the tears forming in my eyes as I look at the box holding it, the latest MacBook Pro so I will be able to record all of my music straight away allowing me to mix and produce them as Maura says from anywhere I am.

"Don't cry Janie" she says wiping a tear from my cheek "finish setting up, and see if you can have some fun before Nina gets here ok? Just no singing sweetie as much as you're turning me on even more every time you speak you are going to be worse. Now I'm going to fix you a p&f some fresh juice also a bottle of water and bring you the antibiotics you should have had when you first got home!" She kisses my cheek before slipping out of the room.

I can't believe how fast this Mac loads just as I've finished setting it up Maura comes back in with exactly what she said all on a small tray with Steven following behind her.

"Tablets and sandwich please sweetie"

She smiles as I make quick work of swallowing the tablets I take a bite of the sandwich more to humour her than anything else setting it on the small towel Ste had placed on the roof of the piano with my orange and bottle of water on, smiling to myself knowing that neither of them are comfortable placing anything on it incase it stains.

"So what called to you Ste?" I whisper smiling at him as he has a pile of music books on his lap as he sits cross legged on the floor leaning against the chair

"The flute" He flashes me a grin before putting his head back into the book.

Rolling my neck and stretching my arms and back out a I already know I want to put together right now I'm slightly aware that Maura is talking to me but I honestly can't hear her

"Say again babe?" I ask as Steven cracks up laughing

"What are you laughing at?"

"You grandma!"

Maura rolls her eyes at him "I said you seem to have a theme going on with your instruments if you hadn't already noticed?" she speaks a little louder

"Do I?"

"Yes honey they are all black.." Maura explains

"Huh I hadn't noticed" I smile at her looking at them all
