Let Me In (book 2 - follow on from Abandoned)

Jane's PoV

Waking up naturally wasn't something I expected after last night, but here I am still in the same position I was when I fell asleep, with Maura's arms protectively wrapped around me. Moving my head causes her to stir, as soon as my eyes lock on to the clock I sigh knowing that I could still be asleep for another hour before its due to go off.

"Honey.." Maura's soft sleepy voice breaks the silence

"Yes love?"

"Are you ok? How long have you been awake? Do you need me to let you go" Lifting my head I smile down at her placing my lips over hers to stop her from getting on a role. Breaking away I find myself gazing down at her, its in that moment I know exactly what I will be doing for her birthday on Friday. Her soft touch as the pad of her thumb runs across my cheek draws me back to her.

"I'm ok, I had only just woken up, and I never want you to let me go... how are you feeling?"

"I'm ok sweetie" Maura replies smiling lovingly at me

"Do you want to get another hours sleep?"

"No.." a small smirk tugs a the corner of her lips before disappearing and her brow begins to furrow slightly

"No frowning darling, tell me what you want.. I might be thinking the exact same thing" I whisper leaning down leaving the smallest gap between our lips

"Make love to me Jane.." she breathes before inching higher connecting our lips together in a deep slow passionate kiss that is full of nothing more than love.

Doing exactly what she asked for along with it being my own wish as well, I proceed to make love to her, only savouring every moment by being so tender and slow with her.

Settling down content in each others arms calming our breathing that was until the shrill noise of the alarm pierces through the stillness of the room, making Maura groan in frustration.

"I can't believe the breaks already over" she sighs rolling over to turn the alarm off and continuing to get up and out of bed

"Yeah I know, but we had an amazing break even if things did have a rocky start and end. What are we going to do about what happened Maur?" I ask following her into the en-suit to get in the shower

"Honestly honey, I don't know, all I know is I don't want you getting wrapped up in this, I don't want it to trigger you, I do not want you hurting form this. Steven agreed with me, and he will not be speaking to you about it unless its an emergency and I'm not there. I also think it might be a good idea that you try and distance yourself from Sam a bit too."

"Well that's going to be a little hard Maura he is in my department after all.. I do have to work with him." I sigh in frustration but I know that she is correct

"I know sweetie, but you don't need to work directly with him, if you go into your music room, at work well you know how to stop him from entering, just close the door. You understand why I'm saying this don't you?" Maura quizzes whilst I'm rinsing my hair

"Because you care and love me far too much to see me hurting, and for anything to potentially trigger me, and you don't want me doing something stupid like kicking the crap out of him, when we already have a lot of things running through our heads, like how we are going to deal with Dean, Tommy, my father, finishing sorting out the last details for the club. You don't want that added stress of what's happened between them to affect me, but Maura, I don't want you dealing with all of their crap alone. It can become suffocating and dark and I don't want that for you, you are too pure and too light to be cast into that darkness."
