Let Me In (book 2 - follow on from Abandoned)

Jane's PoV

"Jane...." I can hear Maura trying to talk to me rolling my head towards the open door of the car where she's stood I take her in, a look I have seen before but never to this extent, the sheer amount of worry is radiating off her.

"Sweetie, please get out of the car. Barry has taken Sam and Steven outside, let me get you inside and in the bath we need to get that paint off you honey." Maura asks once again. I hadn't even realised we were at her house nor do I know how long we had been there.

Complying I slide out of the car and follow her into the house I can see she keeps stealing glances at my hands as I clutch them tightly against my chest. I know how much damage I have done to them without even looking. They burn I've self inflicted too much onto them that both of my palms have been bleeding.

Standing in the doorway to the bathroom watching Maura fill the bath I can feel it coming again as it creeps in I sink to the floor pulling my knees up to my chest tightly against my hands as my breathing shallows.

"Ja.." I don't even hear Maura finish for what the scream erupts from my chest.

Sam's PoV

"She was what?" I ask shocked looking at Frost as a tear escapes my eye I harshly wipe it away

"Curled up on the floor screaming" Frost says once again

"What..." I'm cut off from an ear piercing painful scream coming from inside the house not taking any chances I jump up from my seat and race into the house and upstairs towards the noise Frost and Steven close behind me.

Reaching the top of the stairs my eyes fall onto Maura crouching in front of Jane as she screams her head resting on her knees as her body shakes. Maura locks eyes with me before leaning forward

"Maura don't!" I yell but she ignores me wrapping her arms around Jane she pulls her against her holding her tightly as Jane try's to struggle against her as the fear takes over her.

"Jane stop fighting, it's only me. Stop fighting I'm not letting you go sweetie" Maura lovingly says struggling to hold her against her self.

The determination is clear on her face as she holds her tighter as tears silently fall down her cheeks. My own fall seeing how bad Jane's flashbacks are and the pain that she's stuck in.

We stand watching in disbelief as her scream quietens and she stops fighting against Maura's hold. The silence that fills the house is deafening until it's broken

"mmake..tthem sttop..ppllease" Jane stammers quietly

"Oh sweetie I wish I could" Maura quietly cry's letting Jane out of her embrace only placing her hands on her elbows she helps her back to her feet I frown seeing how she's holding her hands firmly against her body.

"Give me something knock me out just make it stop Maura please" Jane begs looking at Maura

"Jane, I cant do that, just like how Hope can't either. I don't have access to that type of drug sweetie." Maura explains as we all just stand on the landing Jane's head snaps around to us with anger washed on her face

"One of you. Knock me out." She snaps

"Not gonna happen" Frost states coldly

"I'm giving someone a free pass to knock me the fuck out and non of you will take it." Jane yells

"No." Frost calmly says as Jane stares at us her expression leaves her as she turns her back to us
