Jane's PoV
Idling my bike whilst the door to the garage lifts Ste has already started taking my instruments out of the car into the house. Not waiting any longer ducking down I drive my bike under the half lifted door, kicking the stand down and killing the engine. Hitting the button on the garage fob closing it behind me I drag my heavy body off the bike, as the internal door to the house opens.
"Steven has brought everything in honey, do you want to go straight to bed?" Maura softly asks with concern lingering in her eyes
"No Maur, if you wanna head to bed then that's fine" I sigh rubbing my hand against the back of my neck trying to ignore the tightness in my scars
"Are you sure sweetie?"
"Yeah I'm sure I need to do some work" I answer her not catching her gaze I don't need to work but I have stuff I need to get out of my system "you ok?"
"Other than being worried about you Jane and with what's going on with Dean... yes I'm ok"
I nod at her response as her phone starts ringing in the kitchen I follow her through pulling a bottle of wine out pouring her a glass before reaching up and opting for tequila instead of my whiskey, as I'm pouring a considerable amount over the ice in my glass I register that Maura is in fact talking to me
"Janie.. Sam's on his way he's picking up Chinese what would you like?"
"Nothing thanks.. I'm good.." I can't think about food I feel sick to my stomach from the flashbacks I've had tonight.
"Yes.. yes Sam just do that.. I don't know.. sure see you soon" I catch the tail end of what she was saying before hanging up.
"I'll be in the other room" I tell her handing her, her wine leaving a kiss on her cheek forcing my body into my music room.
Pulling out my blank notebooks from my piano bench and sitting at my desk flicking the single lamp on casting light over it I pull my charcoals from the desk draw and let it out the image I have had etched on my mind, only this time every single aspect of it is too defined.
Steven's PoV
"You doing ok M?"
"Hmm?" Maura questions as I get closer to her as she takes up her usual spot leaning against the sink in the kitchen nursing a glass of wine
"Doll seriously what's going on? Where's Jay?" I sigh leaning opposite her
"A lot of things Steven... I'm really worried about her, I'm scared that history is going to repeat its self with Dean." She whispers looking up at me as her eyes gloss over
"Maura, Jane will never let anyone hurt you not again. That is one thing I know she is determined about, and she will be ok, tonight's just obviously taken it out of her and she's been holding it in as best as she can, she will be ok and be back to her normal self I'm sure... where is she anyway?"
"She's dealt with so much though Steven far too much, and like she says when she thinks she is getting somewhere, something always seems to be there ready to set her back and it's taking its toll on her a lot more than what she lets on... she's in her music room" Maura sighs putting her wine down before pushing off from the sink and leaning into me I give her what she needs and it's clear she needs someone to hold her and not let go right now.
"Doll you just need to have a little faith and trust that it will all work out, what's she doing do you know.. and you know I'll always do this but I know it's not who's arms you want to be in is it?" I ask quietly holding her against me
"I know you will thank you Ste.. and I don't know she said she had some work to do but I don't know what, she didn't even get changed, and you're right with what you said.. but I don't know when she's going to be able to do this again... I miss her so much, she's not come near me all week... you give really good hugs" Maura weakly smiles up at me
