Maura's PoV

A sensual tickling brings me from my dreamless sleep, whilst a smile begins to tug at my lips, shuffling backwards more into Jane's strong frame. The running of her fingers over my ribs ceases, yet she replaces them with ghosting her lips over my skin.

"I know you're awake Birthday Queen" Jane whispers against my ear "Happy Birthday my love"

As I roll over she pulls me into her arms smiling down at me

"Thank you sweetie"

"How are you feeling?" Jane asks knowing that unfortunately my body threw itself out of sync and the last few days have been taking its toll on me emotionally and physically. "How's the pain?"

"Right now I'm ok, I had a better sleep it seems to have eased a lot, I'm hoping that the worst is over. Thank you for looking after me Janie" I whisper cuddling closer into her warmth

"I did notice you didn't get up as much in the night.. I will always look after you Maur, now my beautiful birthday queen, what would you like me to make you for your breakfast, because your full birthday wake up is postponed until you're no longer on your period... don't pull that face Maura, you're the one that's the doctor, and you're also the one that tells me each time not to be embarrassed about it!" Jane chuckles

"I know, it's just annoying the only reason I can think that I've come on early is because of the stress with everything that's been going on. I hate not being sync'd in with you."

"I know babe, I know.. but hopefully we will sync back up again, now no more pouting and getting upset you're not aloud to be upset on your birthday you know that.. now breakfast my darling? I'll make what ever you want, whilst you get yourself ready"

"Mmm, French toast?" I ask looking up at her

"Why are you biting your lip? Of course I'll make you French toast exactly how you like it" she smiles before giving me a deep and passionate kiss, before forcing me to move off her and to get up and ready for the day.

Dragging myself up I take my time getting a shower and choosing my clothes, opting for some black cigarette trousers, and a blouse with a matching jacket, leaving my hair to dry in its loose waves and a small amount of make up.

By the time I've got myself downstairs I cast my eyes around the room that Jane has filled with balloons the table has been laid with fresh flowers in the middle as she turns around after placing our breakfast down on the table, I allow myself to take her in wearing one of the new suits that we had chosen with her shirt tucked in.

"Well there's a first for everything! Don't you think?" Jane laughs, and it's only then do I realise that we have matched our clothes without even realising it.

"Well yes it appears we are matching Ms Rizzoli, this looks great honey thank you." I politely say taking a seat at the table

"mmhm eat up before it goes cold and then you can begin to have your presents" Jane flashes me a grin whist I tuck in

After finishing breakfast and we have cleared away does she disappear and come back to me with a card and a small narrow box that's been gift wrapped.

"Happy Birthday baby" Jane smiles handing me the box whilst leaving a kiss on my cheek

After reading her card I open the present and a gasp leaves my mouth removing the delicate bracelet from the box that's encrusted in diamonds.

"Oh Janie! It's beautiful, thank you!" I catch the nervousness leave her face as she carefully takes my wrist clasping it around my right wrist. As soon as its clasped I reach up giving her a kiss which she smiles into.
