"i'm your king, be the queen of my throne."

My mind keeps replaying last night with Nadia. I told her I love her; Something I thought I never would do. We've always been best friends, and nothing more. But seeing her come back, seeing how much she supports me, seeing how much she cares about me, I definitely was reeled in by her and was falling hard.
I never was the greatest with relationships in the past; I wasn't one to commit to just one person. I had a relationship with a girl, but, the chemistry wasn't there. What me and Nadia have, though? I wouldn't trade for the world. I felt loved, I felt that I could be her safe haven, I was her man, and she was my girl.
She's beautiful; Inside and out. I don't think any girl could compare to the down to earth person she is. I've been through some tough shit and she's been there for me. Sure, we lost contact for a couple of years, but we were both doing our thing. Somehow, though, when I see her for the first time in six years, I don't know what came over me, but I never felt that way about Nadia before.

"Yeli, damn, did you get attacked by a vampire?" Ryan asked, laughing as he hitting my neck where Nadia must've left marks on.
I shook my head, rolling my eyes and looked at him. "Nah, it was a curling iron." I said with a chuckle. "I think you know what these are, man." I stated as I fixed my long sleeve before slipping my pinstriped jersey on, buttoning it up.
"So MVP got laid last night?" Travis wiggled his eyebrows at me.
"Yeah, and what about it?" I asked, putting my foot on the chair to tie my cleats. "It was fucking amazing." I shrug and tie the other cleat.
"No need to brag."
"Are you falling for her?" I turned my head to see Mike was the one to ask the question.
I froze for a second; I didn't know if I wanted to tell them yet. But, they were gonna find out eventually. I think they already knew the answer.
"I mean, I told her last night I love her.." I said, rubbing the back of my neck as all the guys whistled and cooed.
"Yeli is in looove." I shook my head and put my hat on and grabbed my sunglasses and gloves before walking out of the locker room and down the hall to the lounge. I was taken back a little when I didn't see Nadia and her siblings in there. Usually she was in there on her phone, waiting for me. I sigh, grabbing a water out of the cooler and stumbled forward when I felt someone jump on my back.
"Hi babyyyy." Nadia giggled, kissing my cheek as I stood up and she slid off my back.
"You scared the shit out of me." I laughed, putting my water in my back pocket. She looked so cute in my older jerseys; Seeing her sport Yelich on her back made me beyond happy. Something I could definitely get used to.
She smiled at me, wrapping her arms around my neck. "I'm sorry! I wanted to come see you before you went off on the field." She kissed my cheek again before I cupped her chin and kissed her gently. Nadia pulled back, "Not too much, though! You gotta save your energy for your game!" She giggled again, moving her arms to grab one of my hands as we walked out of the lounge and down the hall towards the dugout entrance.
"What do you think? Home run?" I asked, leaning against the wall as I looked at Nadia.
"I think you can hit two." She smiled, fixing the buttons on my jersey. "I mean, either way, you'll get a good job from me." She smirked and held both of my hands. "Go out there and kick ass." Nadia said before standing on her tip toes and placed a kiss on my lips.
When she pulled back, I smiled at her. "Thank you. I love you, Nads." I said, giving her another kiss.
"Love you too, superstar." She laughed, letting go of my hands and walked the opposite direction as I made my way to the field.

The game was over and it was a tough loss. I wasn't on my A-Game, and I always beat myself up for it, even though I know it's just one game. But, I know I'm capable of doing better.
When I got in the locker room, I checked my phone to see a couple of messages from Nadia;
Nadia: do not be upset about the loss today, okay? you still did amazing and i'm proud of you!!
Nadia: aspen is gonna drive me over to your place. i'll have some dinner ready for you when you get home.
Nadia: maybe even more? who knows? ;)
I shook my head, smiling at her messages before I headed to the showers and got myself dressed in some sweats and a plain black t-shirt.
When I got home, I walked straight to my bedroom and I saw Nadia laying in bed, reading. She looked up and beamed a smile at me. "Hi, superstar." She said, sitting up and set her book down. I sat next to her, where she moved in my lap and wrapped her arms around my neck. "I have some dinner in the microwave for you, if you're hungry." She kissed my cheek and played with the hair on the back of my head.
"Thank you, babe." I said as I had my hands on her hips. "Did you stay the whole game?" I asked, grazing my thumb against her thigh.
"I left a little before the game was over, I wanted to get here and make a nice dinner for my hard-worker." She smiled, giving my lips a peck. "You know I'm always proud of you, right? I know you might be a little flustered over the loss today, but I'm always proud of how you play." Hearing her say that lifted up my mood a bit. "You're always my MVP."
