"we got that kind of love, that a blind man can see"
——————Christian and I were going back home for a week to visit our families. It had been a couple of months since I've seen my parents, and I'm sure Christian was missing his family as well. This was definitely needed.
I finished packing up my suitcase and made sure Christian had started to pack his; He was pretty good at procrastinating, always putting packing off until the last minute, someone had to push him to get it going.
"Babe! You need to finish packing!" I exclaimed, walking in the bathroom, seeing that he was brushing his teeth. "I'm glad you're caring about your dental hygiene, but, I finished packing my stuff, and I'm not gonna pack yours like your mom." I said, moving to stand in front of him.
Christian moved me off to the side and wiped his mouth. "I'm gonna get it done, baby. No worries." He said as he kissed my forehead and walked back into his room and continued packing. "Where is my spring training hoodie?" He asked, rummaging through his closet.
I giggled and looked at him, "It's in my suitcase. Sorry, it's mine this week. You have other sweatshirts, not having this one won't kill you." He rolled his eyes at me and zipped up his suitcase once he finished packing and ruffled my hair.
"You're lucky I love you." He said, leaning down and pecked my lips then walked out of the bedroom with his suitcase. I followed shortly after and looked at him, smiling all cute.
"I can't wait to see your mom again!!" I said, giggling and grabbed his hand. "Let's go! We have to get to the airport!" I pulled on his arm, walking towards the door.
———————The plane ride was short, but felt like forever due to nerves overpowering my body. It's been a while since I saw Christian's family and now I was going back home as his girlfriend? What were they going to say? They've obviously seen the pics of us, I just was nervous to see their in-person reactions.
As we walked to luggage claim, I saw Christian's younger brother Cam waiting for us, causing me to smile big. "Cameron!!" I exclaimed, running to him and hugged him tight.
"Hey, Nads." He said, laughing and hugging me back. "Good to see you're home again." He pulled back from the hug and went to hug Christian. "Go to Wisconsin a single man, come home a taken man and it's someone we already approve of." He laughed.
Christian smiles, hugging his brother back. "Either way, Nadia was gonna come home with me." He patted Cameron's back then grabbed mine and his luggage. I went to reach for Christian's hand when fans approached him asking for pictures. I grabbed our luggage and stepped off to the side with his brother.
"I figured that would happen.." I said, laughing. "Christian's back home, I'm sure the people here missed him." Cameron nodded in agreement, waiting for Christian to finish up.
"Hey, sorry." He said as he grabbed our luggage again, walking with Cameron and I to Cameron's car.
"It's okay, babe." I said, grabbing my suitcase from him, putting it in the back of the car and climbed in the backseat, sitting next to Christian.
————-We arrived to the Yelich household and instantly was bombarded by Christian's dog Cooper, who, let me tell you, is so fucking adorable. Christian was definitely happy to see him, and seeing him smile like that was something I definitely loved.
"Nads, you haven't met Coop yet!" Christian exclaimed as I walked over only to be attacked in kisses by the dog. "He's a very loving dog, don't worry." He said, laughing as he stood up, walking in the house with me.
Alecia, Christians mother was in the living room cleaning up when we walked in. She turned and had the biggest smile on her face, "My baby boy!!" She exclaimed, embracing Christian in a tight hug before smiling at me and taking me into her arms, "And Nadia?! You have grown up since the last time I saw you!" She said as she kissed my cheek. "How was the flight? Everything go okay?" She asked, pulling back from the hug.
