Today was the baby shower and gender reveal and I was ready to find out what we were having. It took everything in me not to look in the envelope and find out what we're having, but I had to wait. I was done with being pregnant, though. Don't get me wrong, creating a life is amazing, but, I honestly just wanted the baby here. I wanted to be able to hold them in my arms and give them all of my love and attention.
I looked in my closet, trying to find an outfit. Nothing really looked good on me with how big my belly was getting. But, I did love wearing sundresses to show off my bump, it was cute. I grabbed a black and white striped sundress and changed into that, looking in the mirror and sat down at my vanity, starting to work on my makeup.
Once I finished, I walked into the bathroom, and brushed my teeth. Christian was out getting last minute things for the shower. I could tell he was excited, but nervous. Which, was expected. I was nervous as well to welcome the baby. I was ready to become a mother, but at the same time, I didn't know how this was going to change my life and Christian's life. He was doing amazing this far in his baseball career and I didn't want him to think that he has to put his passion and job on hold for me and the baby.
Christian walked in the bathroom, giving my ass a squeeze before wrapping his arms around me and kissed my temple, "Damn, you really gonna do this to me?" He asked as I turned around and giggled. "You look so fucking sexy, baby. Damn." He leaned forward and kissed me.
I pulled away from the kiss, smiling at him. "I didn't really know what to wear, but I just got this dress a little while ago, so I figured I would wear it for the party." I told him, wrapping my arms around his neck. "You like?"
"I love." Christian replied, moving his hands to my ass again. "I have such a beautiful girl.." He said as I grabbed his hands.
"When did you want to head over to Travis's?" I asked him, lacing our fingers together. Travis was kind enough to allow us to use his beautiful home for the party since Christian and I were still just in an apartment in the Third Ward. I couldn't wait to see my family and friends and definitely couldn't wait to find out what we were having.

Everyone was enjoying themselves and mingling. Christian was talking with his teammates and brothers and I stayed near my mother.
"So you two have been getting along?" My mom asked me, setting her drink on the table
I nodded, looking confused at her, "Why wouldn't we be? Him and I are perfectly fine, no troubles at all." I took a sip of my water, putting a hand on my belly as I felt the baby kick again.
"Just don't want you two getting overly stressed and then fighting. I know pregnancy can be a lot for you two. Especially when he's got a busy schedule and you're just needing rest.." She was right; I would get tired very easily, sometimes asleep by the time Christian would get home from his late night games. I found myself napping throughout the day as well, but, this baby was draining my energy.
"We're perfectly fine, mom." I said, "Christian's happy and excited to welcome our baby. He's going to be an amazing daddy, I can already tell." I smiled at her.
Christian came over and wrapped an arm around me. "Hi, cutie." He said as he kissed my cheek. "Wanna go get ready to do the reveal?" I nodded, taking his hand as we walked into the backyard where everyone was standing around.
Travis handed Christian the bat and handed me a ball, "So you're going to pitch this to Christian, and hopefully he won't miss," He said laughing and patted Christian's back. "The color obviously will reveal the gender. Figured we would do something baseball related since y'know.." He laughed again and I smiled at him as Christian backed up a couple feet away from me.
"Whenever you're ready, baby, I'm ready." Christian said, getting all in his batting position.
"Taking this seriously, huh?" I asked, giggling then looked over at my mom, "Ready?"
My mom nodded, pressing record on my phone.
I smiled and pitched the ball to Christian as he hit the ball and it exploded, revealing blue powder and confetti. I widened my eyes and jumped up and down, "Oh my god!!!"
Christian cheered all excitedly and all his friends ran to him, jumping on him like he just won a baseball game. He raised his arms in victory, causing me to laugh. He then ran up to me, picking me up and embraced me in a tight hug. "Babe!! Did you see that?" He was so happy, tears were already down his cheeks, telling me that he was crying when he found out.
I was crying tears of joy as I just shook my head is disbelief, "We're having a baby boy.." I told him, putting my hands on his cheeks. "A mini you." I giggled.
Christian nodded, "I love you and that little guy so much, " He said keeping his arms around me as his friends all came by us, congratulating us.
"Now we have to train another MVP." Travis said, giving me a hug. "Congrats you two."
"Thank you for letting us have our party here.." I replied, "Seriously means a lot." Christian went over by his friends again as they all messed with him, ruffling up his hair and just being boys. I walked over by my mom and siblings who embraced me in a hug.
"A little nephew!! Nadia, he's going to be so cute!" Aspen said, pulling away from the hug. "Definitely going to look like Christian, for sure."
"I hope so!" I laughed, "I can't believe it. I thought for sure it would be a girl. But I am happy either way."
"Who knows? Maybe one day he'll sport Christian's number on the field." Gage said, smiling at me.
"There's no other way to represent 22." I told him, looking at my mom who hugged me as tightly as she could.
"You know I'm proud of you, right?" My mom said, pulling back slightly from the hug. "Growing up and having a kid is a huge step in your life, and I am very proud of you, Nadia." She kissed my cheek, "I wish you didn't live so far away, but, I'll make sure that little boy gets all the loving from his grandma."
I smiled at my mom, just listening to what she had to say. I still couldn't even believe that I was pregnant, that was hard to believe. I didn't expect myself to be pregnant this young, let alone with my best friend's baby, and now I'm living the best life with my best friend, the love of my life as we prepare to welcome our precious baby boy.
