As we walked hand-in-hand through the clubhouse at the stadium, I realized that being with Christian was something I truly took for granted. He could get any girl he wanted, and somehow, I got lucky and he picked me. I never thought I would be able to say that I got married to my best friend, because I thought once he left, that would be the last time I saw him. But, fate brought us back together and now we were celebrating our lives together as a happily married couple.
"You look cute," Christian commented before he kissed my cheek. I was wearing one of his old Marlins jerseys as the Brewers were hosting the Marlins and I wanted to be a little jokester.
"In your Marlins gear?" I giggled, looking up at him, "I think it'll make your friends mad...Perfect." I smiled as we walked into the clubhouse.
"Nope, she's wearing the competitors gear! She can't be in here!" Orlando said as soon as he saw my jersey.
"Would it help if I turned around and showed you who's jersey it was?" I asked, turning around to show Christian's old number and name on the back.
Orlando shrugged, "I guess since it's Yeli's old jersey, I'll allow it. Can't be like Stanton or some shit like that," He laughed.
I just rolled my eyes at him before walking with Christian to sit down on the couch.
"I'm so tired.." Christian said as he rested his head on my shoulder. "I slept good, but I feel like I didn't sleep enough.." He told me as I nodded, wrapping my arm around him.
"I'm sorry, baby...We can reschedule date night for another night and just go home and sleep.." I suggested, knowing that he needed the rest. But I also knew that he wanted to take me out for dinner.
"If that's okay...I don't want you to be upset about rescheduling date night.." Christian told me, looking up at me.
I shook my head, "Babe, it's okay! You need rest, and I'm perfectly okay with rescheduling date night. Laying in bed after a game sounds more ideal to me, especially when we're both sleepy."
Christian nodded, "Okay, baby...Thank you for understanding."
"No need to thank me. I know you're tired, you need the rest." I told him, playing with a button on his jersey.
