----- CHAPTER o1 -----
"This is Wren and you're listening to The Bloody Hours Podcast. Just a short life update: your girl just moved to the beautiful city of Valesca, and wow oh wow, I don't even know how to get to my new university. While I'm still struggling to figure things out, rest assured that my podcasts will continue without derail, so just sit back and expect more true tales of crime every Friday night. Anyhow, let's get to this week's true crime case . . . The Cabading Family Massacre."
I turned off my recorder and slid down my headphones. Pushing myself away from my desktop microphone, I heaved a great sigh of relief.
Finally!
I glanced at my wrist watch and grimaced at the time, realizing it's already 4 in the morning.
Gusto ko siyang pagalitan at ipagpilitang ako na ang magluluto, but I promised him that I wouldn't treat him differently now that he's been diagnosed with colon cancer.
"Good Morning, Tits!" I greeted him with my usual playful banter.
"Good Morning, Wren." He chuckled while shaking his head. "How's sleep?"
"Okay lang, nagising pa naman ako." I shrugged and sat on the dining chair. My eyes turned into glimmering hearts at the sight of pancakes with hot choco on the side.
"Nagising?
I couldn't help but sigh. Guilty as fucking charged.
Tito sat right in front of me, eyes filled with so much guilt and sadness.
"If I was in your position, ibebenta ko rin 'yon. Times were tough. You did what you had to do to pay for Papa's medical expenses," giit ko agad.
Tito Maynard has nothing to regret and be sorry for.
He was a Radio Journalist while I only run an online Podcast. That was his bread and butter, while mine is just out of hobby, sinuwerte lang na may sponsorships," paliwanag ko pa.
