Pegasus vs. Dragons!

Chapter 30: Defeating the Humans!

      Zane gasped and ran over to Maybelle. He knelt down beside her and wrapped his arms around her. "Maybelle. May!" Zane exclaimed, frantically. His heart pounded in his chest as tears rolled down his cheeks. He closed his eyes, hoping she was okay. Maybelle's eyes fluttered open. She saw Zane holding her and crying, but didn't know why. She felt confused, but then the memories came back in a flash. She saw the orb next to her. She sighed as she grabbed Zane's hand. He opened his eyes and locked eyes with her. "I am alrigh, really." Maybelle told him. He grinned and gave her a big hug. She smiled as she wrapped her arms around his neck. They stayed like that for a moment. They pulled apart and Zane wiped the tears from his cheek. "You scared me." Zane told her and she smiled. "I know, and I am sorry." Maybelle apologized. "Zane starred at her and moved a lock of hair behind her ear. "Marry me." Zane commented and Maybelle widened her eyes. "What?" Maybelle asked. "I know this is not the best time, and I do not have some fancy proposal. You deserve it, and not just because you are royalty, but it is not who I am. I cannot give you much, but I love you more then anything and I want to spend my life with you." Zane replied. Maybelle starred at him for a moment. "I do not care about what you do or do not have. I just want you, and I would love to marry you." Maybelle replied and then they kissed passionately. Zane stood up and held out his hand. Maybelle accepted it and he helped her up. "We should probably get back now." Zane suggested. "Yes, of course." Maybelle agreed. He picked up the orb and handed it to her as she took it. They both nodded and transformed back into a Pegasus and Dragon as they flew off. 
      Maybelle and Zane landed on the bloody battlefild. Some Pegasus were dead, some Dragons were dead, and some Humans were dead. They starred at the scene in shock. "This has got to stop." Maybelle commented and Zane nodded. "I am with you." Zane agreed. "Everyone!" Maybelle exclaimed. They all ignored her and she sighed. "Hello!" Zane exclaimed. But they all ignored him too. They were too focused on their battle then to notice them or to even care. "This is pointless." Maybelle exclaimed. "On the bright side, at least the Dragons and Pegasus are working together now, without even realizing it." Zane told her and Maybelle let out a small laugh. Maybelle knew they couldn't give up. She was determined and she began flying in the air a little bit above them. She stretched out her wings and flapped them hard, causing a huge gust of wind. They all stumbled backwards, especially the humans, and causing every creature to drop their weapons as well. Maybelle flew back down and touched her hooves on the ground. She looked at Zane and he smiled at her as he nodded. She took a deep breathe as she looked back at everyone. 
       Maybelle had no idea what she was going to say on her way to this place. But now that she's here, she knew exactly what to say. "Some of you do not know me. "I am Princess Maybelle. Some of you blame me for this battle, because I am not dating a Prince or because I am dating a Dragon or both. But someone reminded me, that this battle was going to happen eventually, no matter what. There have already been so many casualties, and we are all hurtingf because og it. But this does not have to continue. We do not need to be at war. None of us. We are all different, there is no denying that. But we are more similiar then any of you notice. We all have dreams, desires, fears, drama, and much more. We should be friends, or at least allies to start out with, instead of enemies. We are stronger together, then we can ever imagine being apart." Maybelle explained. There was a moment of silence as everyone starred at her. "That is poposterous, daughter!" Roman exclaimed. "Never." Melissa commented, grief and anger clouding her face. "It is time to be rid of you beasts, once and for all." Sara commented and Maybelle sighed. "Attack!" Max exclaimed. The humans picked up their weapons and began fighting the Dragons and Pegasus again. Maybelle couldn't believe that the talking didn't work. She walked over to Zane. "What did I do wrong?" Maybelle asked and Zane shook his head. He grabbed her free hand, since her other hand was holding the orb, and he put his other hand on the side of her face, caressing her cheek. "You did nothing wrong, May." Zane replied. "Then why did it not work, Zane?" Maybelle asked and Zane sighed. "Some creatures just cannot be reasoned with." Zane replied. "What do I do?" Maybelle asked. "Whatever you believe is right, I will support any decision you to make." Zane replied and Maybelle nodded. 
       Maybelle pulled away from her fiance and looked back the battle. Blood everywhere. It was not a pleasnt sight, but no war is. The sad part is that they don't have to be fighting, they just think they have to. She looked past a few warrious and gasped when she saw Isabella laying on the ground, dead. Tears formed in her eyes as a few of them rolled down her cheeks. She saw the Dragon King was dead as well. Both of her parents were injured badly, and so was Zane's mom. She watched as a human, Darla, was about to stab Evelyn from behind. Anastasia and Mandy were fighting aggressively. Roman was fighting Max and Sara at the same time while Rodger fought Henry and Alexa was fighting a human as well. Maybelle looked down at the orb. She realizes that the Humans will not stop until the Pegasus and Dragons were both extinct. She has to protect her people.... Desperate times call for desperate measures.... Neal had told Zane that the only one who can use the orb had to be true of heart, so that no creature uses it in vengancee or just to be mean. That is why she passed out after she touched it, because it was a test. She had dreamed of this moment. Her speech, no one listening, and her eliminating all Humans. Neal didn't know how to use it, no one did. But in that moment, in her dream, the orb showed her what to do, and it showed her that she was the only one who could. She closed her eyes and concentrated on Humans. All of them. In her heart and soul, she knew this was the only way. A white light flashed through the battlefield, causing everyone to stop fighting and sheild their eyes. The orb levitated and it shined a light on each Human on the battlefield and all around the world. They didn't scream, so Maybelle hoped that it was painless. Maybelle levitated  as well. Then the orb shattered and the white lights dimmed into nothing as she fell to the ground. They all opened the lights and saw that the humans were all laying on the ground, dead. Zane walked over to her, helping her up, and hugged her as she hugged him back.
