Walking into uni this morning was interesting, many eyes followed me as I sat down near the front of the lecture hall. Normally I found myself sitting with my course friends in the back, but I was more than certain I was going to leave early, so I needed a clean escape route.
I wasn't sure when I exactly stopped drinking last night. Me and Kim stayed up late when she started to sober up talking about random things. I think it was our way of distracting ourselves from the whole Montana situation.
I think I fell of a very high stool last night because I have the bruise to prove it. Kim said she remembered something along the lines of that happening.
We were both clueless as to why she would think about getting close to someone else when Cole is one hell of a catch. She could've easily avoided this all if she ended whatever she had with Cole. Kim wanted to just deal with living with her for the remainder of the year, but I made it clear that either her or myself to leave because its only going to be awkward from here on out.
As soon as the first hour was done with our main lecturer I found myself packing my bag and leaving with a few others. Normally this was the time where people went to the toilet or grabbed some food for the next hour, but I had no means to return.
"god, you're a hard woman to track down" Kim said running into the building I was in. she looked exhausted like she ran here of something.
"you could have just texted me or called" I said patting myself down looking for my phone.
She waved it in front of me "you mean this one you left in the kitchen this morning, along with your coffee"
Well that makes perfect sense I thought as I took the device from here. I pressed the home button and funnily enough I had 5 missed calls from my own mother.
"well it looks like you're skipping class today so you should join me in the studio with Kyle" she offered. As much as I love this girl id rather go to bed right now.
I think she could see my answer because she grabbed my arm "there's a really comfy sofa in there you can rest there but still offer some support" she said already pulling me along.
I guess resting there is better than heading to the flat with the possibility of bumping into Montana.
Kim basically dragged me over to the building. I tried to call my mom, but she was picking up. I decided to read her messages instead.
Since you don't like to answer your phone I thought I'd message you and inform you that me and your father are going to Ireland for a few days. Your godfather has fallen ill I've sent 200 into your account. Please book a flight for Friday night.
Gary is sick.
I instantly called her, but she wasn't answering, and neither was dad.
Sorry mom, please call me when you can give my love to Gary for me. I texted back.
Gary was my godfather. He was a friend of my fathers back when they were younger and when I was born, the same year his wife passed away from cancer. I was this silly child who would keep him company and distract him from the reality of becoming a widow.
We built such a strong relationship.
By the time I finally finished with my phone we arrived at the studio. I could already see Kyle sitting on a stool in front of a microphone.
Kim pushed me down onto the big sofa she promised me, at least I know she wasn't lying just to get me here. Kim's a real one.
"how did you even find her?" I heard Kyle ask her.
