" How did you know it was my birthday?" I asked Kim as I found her standing in my room balancing a small chocolate cake which had a candle in the middle. She also had a little pink bag balancing on her arm.

" Seriously, I know when everyone's birthdays are," she said coming to sit on my bed.

I simply stared at her.

"Okay fine, I saw someone share a memory on Facebook with you" there it is.

I've never been a big birthday celebration kind of girl something that my parents hated since I would never really get excited and would ruin any possibility of a birthday party.

" I hope you weren't planning on pretending that it wasn't your birthday today," she asked me.

Well yeah.

She groaned " no no no, I will not let you ruin this for me"

I stared at her " Kim, it's my birthday"

She clapped her hands together, after placing the cake down first.

"I know that, but I have so much planned for your special day and you will not ruin this for me"

Wow.

"Now make a wish so I can start the celebrations" she picked up the cake and held it in front of me.

Her eyes stared at me as I didn't move. Reluctantly I leant forward and blew out the candles wishing for a miracle which is to go back to sleep and pretend Kim didn't just wake me up at 8.30 in the morning.

The girl is crazy.

"Not you too" I groaned seeing Rylan walk over to me as soon as i arrived on campus. I watched as he placed a cap on my head and handed me a present.

" How could I forget your special day," he said.

There really isn't anything special about this day. 19 years ago I was born big whoop.

"Only you would actually come on your birthday" Rylan whispered as we headed to a lecture. We found seats in the back with Kim.

" its nothing special" I whispered back. I hated that it came to this but i was actually looking for Cole. I haven't spoken to him in a few days since that night.

Since we had that intimate hug in my room. A hug that refuses to be erased from my mind. Even Kim didn't remember Cole being in my room. 

The lecture went on as usual. Me and kim decided to sneak out at the break to grab food. This was my only lecture for the day so i was relieved. We headed to my favourite burger place about 5 minutes north campus.

" You didn't mind telling him it was your birthday" Kim grinned over at me when I dug into the warm melted brioche bun oozing with all the good stuff.

I wasn't about to miss out on a free burger. " this is the only exception" I said to her.

"Okay how about this one"

"No"

"This one"

"Oh oh this one"

Reluctantly i put my burger down and stared at her.  " can you stop, none of your pics are going on my Instagram especially when I probably look like a pig"

"Fine but they're going on mine" She mumbled as she typed rapidly on her phone.

I had to admit even though she is annoying i was happy that she cared. Kim was becoming a better friend with each day. I trusted her.
