"Don't laugh, I look hot in these" I said as I stepped out the changing rooms in one of Cole's old Basketball shorts. Even though they were old and small for him they still looked big on me which is why Cole is struggling to not laugh at me right now.

" if you say so" he muttered as he sat down on the bench the basketball between his feet. I could still see that he was thinking about whatever was on his mind.

I tied my hair up in my scrunchy and walked over to him. I sat down next to him making sure that my shoulder touched his. I wanted him to know that I was here for him. Forget all the shit we were arguing about.

"what's on your mind?" I asked facing him. I watched him breathe deeply.

" The same stuff really, I know i should be over it but its not that easy you know. Everyone expects there to be something different but I don't know how to get rid of these feelings" he said to me.

My right hand came around slapped his shoulder.

Hard

" Alexis!" he shouted rubbing his shoulder.

" You're not supposed to get over you brother. He is your brother for life you absolute knobhead" I shook my head. I'm sure his brother is shaking his head aswell.

Cole stared at me. He looked vulnerable to me. I don't think he showed a lot of people this side of him, not even his bestfriends.

Braden his dog came over and placed his head on Cole's knee. Okay maybe I'm not the only one, Braden clearly has witnessed a very vulnerable Cole.

"isn't that right Braden" I stroked his head watching as he closed his eyes enjoying the feel of my hand.

There really is nothing more rewarding than making a doggy feel good.

"he would have liked you; you know. He might actually have a better chance with you" Cole said watching me.

I removed my hand.

"He's calm and quiet. Nothing like me" He added.

"yeah you could definitely learn a few tricks from him" I said nudging him slightly. I tried to laugh it off, but I think that hit closer to home than I expected it to.

I reached over stroking Braden again. "but that doesn't mean you haven't got your own unique traits. You're a good guy Cole don't ever change" I said looking up at him. I parted my lips when I found his staring down at me intensely.

"Cole" I whispered.

I watched him close his eyes.

"you're really beautiful did you know that" he whispered.

I hit his shoulder again "of course I do" I rolled my eyes trying to play it off. I didn't want him to know how him looking at me like that would affect me.

"way to ruin the moment" he muttered turning back to the front. But I could see the small smirk on his lips. Oh he knew alright.

Cole stood up grabbing the ball between his legs and bouncing it. He dribbled it down the court before jumping up and shooting it inside.

It went in smoothly.

"I bet you 3 chocolate tarts that you can't shoot 10 in a row" I shouted over to him. He spun around smirking.

"oh your on" he said smirking.

Was this a mistake.

"Do we need to grab some eggs on the way back" he shouted as he got his second basket in a row.
