Chapter Twenty

Standing outside of Mia's bedroom I hear her quietly sobbing, softly whispering to Teddy to get him to fall back to sleep. I gently knock on the door, trying not to started Mia and so she could let me in. "Go away!" Mia whisper yelled, and I guessed she finally got Teddy back to sleep. "Mia, my Angel, please let me in."
"Is anyone else with you?" She asked as her voice broke between her sobs breaking my heart. "No, my love no one else is with me. Please let me in I can't handle hearing you crying my love it is breaking me knowing you are hurt and upset and I can't help you. Please, Angel?" I say trying not to cry for my hurt mate's emotional pain.

I hear gentle footsteps towards the door and the door quietly swings open. My heart breaks at Mia's tear-stained face. (At top) I grab Mia and pull her to my chest so she can have some comfort as I know she still is crying. I stroke her hair softly like a parent comforting an upset child to try and comfort as well as calm Mia down.

After another twenty minutes of Mia sobbing into me, she falls asleep due to exhaustion. I accidentally fall asleep stroking Mia's hair. I wake up to Teddy crying and see that it is 4 on the afternoon, Mia is still sleeping and it has been asleep for 6 and a half hours. I deal with Teddy and hear someone at the door then gentle knocking. "Come in," I whispered trying not to wake up Mione. "Hey, Bay said dinner will be done soon and asked me to come and check up on you guys. How is she doing Draco?" Ginny asked, "She cried for a long time about an hour if I had to guess in total but she fell asleep because of it. She was hurt, really hurt. She never got to even meet him, she never had a proper family... she never had the chance to accept this... she never had the chance to get used to this as she was having to constantly watch her back, constantly on the run... never having time for herself." I said to Gin trying to get across how she feels without bursting into tears because this pain, loss and abandonment is so powerful I don't get how she lived like this for so long.

After finishing my talk with Gin and Ginny taking Teddy downstairs I wake up Mia. She groggy asks what the time was and I replied "4:30 Hun but dinners are done."
"Where's Teddy?"
"Ginny has him, love but you need to get up for dinner."
"I don't want to" I hear her whisper,
"I know, love but you have to face him at some point, love otherwise you won't leave this room and that is not healthy."

She nods her head and walks to the door. She stops and turns around, looking at me and asks "You coming, Dray?" I follow her down to the kitchen to eat. After dinner Bay apologizes and Mia at first said he didn't need to but I know that she was thankful for him doing it. "It is fine Bay, really it is. I didn't mean to snap and hurt you I really didn't..." She starts and ends up with tears running down her checks. Blaise walks over pulls her into a hug stroking her hair calmly, "I shouldn't have acted like that, Mia. You are able to make your own decisions and I should just support and help you unconditionally as your older brother and catch you if you fall. I know you never met Papa but I know you would make him proud of the woman you know. No matter what you have done, he would be proud." I hear Selena at the door while Bay talks and walks in and hugs her children, "He is right, my beautiful Daughter. Your father would be so proud... is so proud of the young woman you have become. I am so proud that my baby girl is so strong, beautiful, confidence, honest, kind and caring, I could not want more for you my Darling."

We end up going to bed later that night after Mia learning more about her father. We all fall asleep in utter peace and calm. But the million-dollar question on my mind is...

Will it last long??
