You Are So Beautiful To Me...

Chapter 6

Lauren pov

I felt relaxed getting some rest but I was suddenly awakened with slobbery kisses and the sound of sniffing in my ear. 

Then i thought, ugh “ Leooo” 

I groaned and stretched as Leo just continued to assault me with kisses, until I've given in and just laughed at his excitement.

“Okay okay, i’m up”I said as I covered my face with my arms to block out Leo’s sniffles and kisses, but also the sun coming through the window. 

“Alright bud come on” I said dropping my arms and scratching behind his little ears before getting out of bed “ let’s get you feed and walked before dropping you off at Ms. Ramseys cause i have work” walking down the hall of my apartment. I feed little Leo and had some coffee I made while i got dressed for work.

I find it funny how I manage to get up and get to work on time without the use of my alarm. I would find that a good thing because I would have broken my alarm clock by now. So after i got ready and drop off Leo across the hall I got to work, I would have thought after the first few couple of times I asked Ms. Ramsey to watch my puppy she would get tired of it but she just loved to have him around and know how I was doing.

I guess she felt a little lonely.

I had dropped off Leo and smiled and thanked the short old lady before heading out. 

When I first moved into this apartment complex  Ms. Ramsey was the first of anyone to welcome me into the building. She was a short old lady with dark silver gray hair and blue grayish eyes that lit up when she smiled. 

I remember the day vividly because i was getting things moved in from my mom’s place with a little help from Lucy when Leo accidentally got loose in the hallway. As I chased after him, I found him in Ms. Ramsey's arms as she petted his little head. At the time he was much smaller than he was now and could fit in your purse.

I rushed over and apologized to the older woman but she dismissed me and explained to me how she had a few puppies in her time and had her own pup waiting for her in her own apartment. She asked for his name and said his name was Leo and explained to her about how i was just moving in when he got out. She was more than happy when she heard i was new to the building and was more than welcoming.

She told me that she lived across from the empty apartment for a while and was more than happy to finally have a neighbor. That day she was more then willing to help out with Leo while me and Lucy got my things settled in and even after she managed to make a few snacks for everyone, even the little puppies.

Her place was homie when we entered it and had many pictures of her family and loved ones. She told us all about herself growing up and her family as me and Lucy were happy to hear all about her life until now. 

Soon it was late and Lucy had to go so we called it a night and I thanked Ms. Ramsey for everything but she dismissed me once again and said she was happy to help. She quickly became a close friend of mine as well as Leo. 

Walking to work was quick but walking into the building I saw loads of people gathered around and seemed to be waiting and also chatting away. 

“Lauren!”

I heard someone say as I walked into the massive hall, turning to the voice I saw Ashley running over to me with her familiar short blond hair and a tray in her hand.

“Whoa what happened i thought we weren’t supposed to have a party until later "I said walking past everyone and getting to the kitchen.

“Yeah but some asshat had to book the place last minute “she said as I walked to the break room and put my things in my small locker before putting on my apron that hung next to the lockers.
