The rest-stop stuff actually happened to me. I had a dream about the rest of it while we were in the car on the way to Alabama and started writing this immediately when I woke up. Enjoy!

When Y/N was five, there was a fire in his little brother's nursery. He tried to run in and save his brother, but something knocked him out. When he woke up, he was in a building he didn't recognize. He looked around and stood up. A man appeared behind him wearing a black suit.

"'Ello Y/N." The boy spun around and looked up at the man.

"Who are you? What happened to my family?" The Scotsman looked down then sighed.

"The fire killed them all. Your house is gone too. I brought you here so you weren't killed as well. You have potential." The boy clenched his fists and tried to hold back his tears.

"I could have saved my baby brother. I could have saved Vinni. I was right there. Who are you?" The boy crossed his arms and wiped his eyes.

"Name's Crowley. You couldn't have saved your brother, because he was already dead by the time you got in there. I couldn't let you get killed too." The boy dropped his arms.

"Where am I gonna go then? If my parents are dead, I don't have anyone left." Crowley looked up in thought, then answered immediately.

"You're an orphan now. You going to come with me, then when you're old enough, you'll come back here." Crowley snapped his fingers and nothing changed. He walked up to the boy and put his arm around his shoulder. He looked up at him then walked with him as Crowley led him out of the building. They were in Hell.

For the next four years, Y/N lived in Hell with Crowley, who he started to call Dad. He went to school on a semi-regular basis. When he turned ten, Crowley told him he had found a family he would be living with. He filled the boy in on who they were and where they lived.

"When you live there, they aren't going to know you aren't part of the family. They're going to have memories of you as if you were their own child. I'll make sure you have some of the same memories, but you'll always remember you aren't their child." Y/N's shoulder's dropped.

"Can't I just stay here with you? I like it here, you've practically become my dad, that's why I call you that." Crowley swallowed and looked down. He kneeled in front of the boy and put his hands on his shoulders.

"You can't. If things go bad, I can't have you here. It's my job to protect you, and with a family of humans on Earth is the best place for you. Not with a family of demons." Y/N frowned and looked over to his side. His hell-hound D/N(dog name) was sitting by his side obediently. He looked back at Crowley and decided to hug him. He threw his arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. Crowley hugged him back tighter. He was going to miss the kid.

"Wait, will I remember you still?" Crowley smirked and chuckled.

"Course you will. I'll even show up sometimes when you least expect it." Y/N smiled from ear to ear. "You ready to go?" Y/N looked over to D/N and hugged him too. He rubbed his head and stroked his ears, then gave him a kiss on the forehead. He then turned back to Crowley and nodded. Crowley snapped and Y/N woke up in a bed.

He sat up and looked around the room. Sunlight was barely coming in through the closed blinds. He could see the outline of another bed on the other side of the room with a desk and things covering the walls. He looked next to his bed and saw posters of bands he liked. The door to the room opened and let in light from the hallway. He shielded his eyes until they adjusted, and looked at who stood in the doorway.

"Hey N/N, you're up. Wanna come play outside before dinner is ready?" He looked at him and something in his brain clicked.

"Sure, Ev. I'll be down in a few minutes." The younger boy's name was Evan and he was five years old. The bed on the other side of the room was his. The boy smiled and ran out of the doorway, leaving the door open. Y/N threw the covers off him and stood up onto the carpeted floor. He looked at himself in the mirror and he looked the exact same. He changed out of clothes that looked like school clothes and into some older ones.
