A/N: Sorry that I didn't update yesterday, I was busy and didn't have enough time to update. Please enjoy this chapter a day late!
"You guys are all third-years now. It's time to start thinking seriously about your futures! I would hand out these future career forms, but..."
The teacher then threw a stack of papers he was holding into the air, spreading them everywhere. All the kids in the class started using their quirks to show off.
All but three.
"I assume you all want to be heroes!"
One was sitting at her desk writing in her notebook labeled 'Hero analysis for the future, No. 18'. She set down her pencil and raised her hand only a little bit above her head, her face painted with anxiety from the loud class around her. Her green hair was cut short and it was easy to tell how curly it was by a glance. Her face was normal, expect for her four symmetrical freckles on both cheeks that would form a diamond, if connected. Her uniform was the regular girls uniform, except that she also wore what looked like a green scarf that matched her hair and eyes' shade of green.
Another was sitting at his desk with his feet propped up on top of it. His hands were in his pockets and a small smirk was plastered on his face. His blond hair stood up on it's ends forming spikes that looked like an explosion. He exuded an aura of confidence, but also one of competition.
The last one wasn't doing much. He sat at his desk with his face pointed downward. His eyes were closed as he was asleep. His softly snored so quietly that not even the kids next to him could hear him. He had pure black hair that went down to his shoulders that was in very good condition.
"Yes, you all have wonderful quirks. But you know that it's against the rules to use them in school!" The teacher was going to continue however the blond spoke before he could.
"Sensei! Don't lump all of us together, as if we had their same crappy quirks. We won't be stuck at the bottom like the rest of these losers." The blond said without a shred of doubt in his voice. His class did not like what he said.
"Get over yourself!"
"That was uncalled for!"
"You two aren't that much better than all of us!"
The teacher spoke, quieting the class, "Ah, Bakugou... you, of course... must be aiming for U.A. High School." Bakugou's smirk grew at his classmates reactions, while the girl with the green scarf seemed to be trying to hide herself in the scarf.
The class quickly started talking again.
"The national school?"
"The acceptance rate is less than 0.2%!"
"Well, it is those two we're talking about..."
Bakugou jumped unto his desk stomping his feet when he landed to draw everyone's attention to himself. "Ah, the stupid chattering of extras! We aced the mock tests! I'm going to get in and surpass him to be the greatest hero of all time! Even over All Might! Not to mention how rich I'll be!"
The teacher cut into Bakugou's rant saying "Oh yeah, Aizawa and Midoriya are also going for U.A. right?"
The entire class grew quiet in an instant, everyone turning to look at Midoriya, the green haired girl. She responded by curling up into her scarf to hide her face from them as she heard them start to laugh.
"Midoriya? No way!"
"Good grades alone can't get you into the hero program!"
Midoriya was about to talk to try and defend herself, but Bakugou started first. "Don't even go to the exam Deku. You'd die the moment it starts!"
That comment woke up the sleeping student.
He stood up as his hair started floating and his eyes started glowing red. He looked at Bakugou who took a step back and covered his eyes on instinct, however he wasn't fast enough as sand flew into his eyes. The newly awoke boy then muttered "Pocket Sand." under his breath as he turned to the rest of the class. "Shut up about her not going, she will. Let's just get on with class."
That day the class was unusually well behaved.
After school
People packed up their stuff and left school to do other things. Midoriya was packing her bag when Bakugou grabbed one of her notebooks. "Hero analysis for the future? Deku, you can't be a hero. So, what's this things point?" The blond pointed down at her notebook he was holding.
"Ah, um... I think th-that I can." Midoriya responded into her scarf as she had it wrapped around her so she could feel safe. Sadly this meant that Bakugou couldn't hear her.
"Eh? I can't understand what you say when you speak into that scarf. Where did that even come from anyways? You still haven't told me." Bakugou said irritation slowly creeping into his voice as he slowly inched closer to her.
"I-it's... I got it... um.." Midoriya was freaking out from how close Bakugou was to her and was further withdrawing into her scarf.
"It's a present." Aizawa answered as he came up from behind Bakugou. "Now, I believe that the notebook you are holding belongs to Izumi."
"So what? What are you going to do?" Bakugou was closing his palms on the notebook as he said this, meaning to explode it. He was interrupted by sand being thrown into his face. He dropped the notebook as his hands went to his eyes. "AGAIN?!! WHY DO YOU ALWAYS THROW SAND?! FIGHT ME! DIE!!" Bakugou swiped at Aizawa who deflected his blow and turned his arm to his face, causing Bakugou to blow up his own face.
"Maybe is you weren't such a piece of work... I wouldn't want to throw sand in your eyes." Aizawa replied as he picked up Midoriya's notebook. He then gave it back to her as he grabbed his bag to leave with her.
Midoriya put the notebook back in her bag and left with Aizawa to go train as they had been for almost two years. They were walking through an underpass talking about the attack Midoriya had witnessed that morning. When a voice that sounded like sludge interrupted them.
"Two medium sized meat suits, which to choose?" Aizawa instantly reacted by jumping into the slime man's way so he couldn't get to Izumi. She reacted slower, turning around to see Aizawa get covered by the slime man.
Aizawa tried to pull the slime off himself but he couldn't grab any of it. After he tried grabbing him the slime man said "No point in trying that. I'm fluid you see! Oh, don't worry I'm just going to hijack your body, it'll only take 45 more seconds, then it'll be all over."
Aizawa started desperately trying to get the sludge off of him so he could breathe, but the villain had been telling the truth. The sludge slipped through his fingers whenever he tried to grab it. Izumi ran forward to try and help, trying to free her friend to no success. They both felt as if they had failed each other.
That's when a manhole cover flew into the air.
