When class 1-A finished the last of the activities they lined up in front of Eraserhead. Most of them were nervous about their results.
Eraserhead pulled out a remote and looked at the class. “Moving along, time for the results. Your total scores simply reflect your performance in each of the events. Explaining the process would be a waste of time, so all you get are the final rankings.” He pressed a button and a screen popped up. “Also I was lying about expelling some of you.”
The class’s eyes widened.
“That was a rational deception, meant to bring out the best in all of you.”
Everyone in the class, minus Katsuo, Katsuki, the dual-haired kid, and a girl with a ponytail, cried out. “WHAAAA?!”
One of the students, the blond, turned to Katsuo. “YOU SAID HE WOULD DO IT!”
Katsuo looked at the boy. “Of course, otherwise you wouldn’t have tried as hard.”
“That’s so unmanly!”
“Yeah! I thought my heart was going to explode from the stress!”
Katsuo looked at the class angrily yelling at him. He could feel himself almost burst at the seams with laughter, and desperately tried not to laugh. Right at the moment he was about to burst a saving grace came.
“If you damn extras can’t deal with that much stress… Why the hell are you here? Huh?!”
“But we don’t need to deal with this type of stuff yet! We’re still students!”
“So what ya extra?! You wanna be a pro hero only when it’s easy?! We’re here to learn how to protect all the extras that can’t do that themselves. We’re here to beat up the damn extras who think they’re hot stuff and can get away with anything. We’re here to learn how to be heroes. We’re not here to have an ordinary highschool life, so stop complaining! Either evolve and deal with this, or fall behind and never recover. You’re choice.”
Eraserhead watched as the class turned silent. ‘Huh. Looks like Katsuo was right. That kid isn’t just a powerful quirk anymore. He’ll eventually become a great hero.’ “Anyway, we’re done here. Your documents about the curriculum and such are back in the classroom. Give them a look.” Eraserhead reached into his pocket and pulled out a form and filled it out. “Midoriya.”
Izumi turned to Eraserhead and walked over to him. Albeit shakily. “Y-yes?”
Eraserhead thrusted a piece of paper at Izumi. “Have Recovery Girl fix you up. Tomorrow’s trials aren’t going to be any easier.” He then walked away heading to the faculty office. ‘I want a nap.”
A few seconds later Izumi heard Katsuo talking behind her. “Hey! Izumi! It seems like even if he had expelled the students you would have been safe anyway.”
“Huh? Safe…” Izumi looked at the board displaying the students ranks.
