- Chapter: 46 -

While Katsuo was sitting at the table, he noticed something going on a bit away from himself. Curious about what his classmates were talking about he got up from his seat and excused himself from the table. He saw the intrigued faces from the people sitting around the table and ignored them.

He walked over to where he saw two of his classmates talking to another group of them. He missed the majority of the conversation, only catching the end of it.

"Aizawa-Sensei told us about it himself."

Katsuo, now very intrigued by the conversation, joined it.

"What about my father?"

The two boys jumped when they suddenly heard his voice. Mineta and Kaminari were both still somewhat afraid of Katsuo from the first day of hero training.

While Mineta seemed worried about something, Kaminari spoke up in an anxious tone. "Nothing! Just that the girls have to wear cheerleader outfits."

"Why do they have to do that?"

"Uh... your father told us to tell them...?"

"That makes no sense... Unless..."

Kaminari stopped speaking and was just shaking.

"You're lying, aren't you, Kaminari?"

Kaminari was sweating profusely, his eyes flying around the area trying to find anywhere that wasn't Katsuo. "U-Uh... no..."

Katsuo smiled kindly at Kaminari. "Are you... sure?"

Kaminari broke after that.

After the lunch break finished the students walked back out onto the field.

Present Mic's voice rang out in the stadium. "Before we get to the final event, I've got some good news for all those out of the running! This is still a sports festival, so we've prepared some recreational activities for all participants! We even shipped in cheerleaders from America to get you pumped up!! Hope everyone enjoys this little recreational competition! Once that's over we're onto the final event. Between the sixteen members of the four winning teams... we'll have a formal tournament!! A series of one-on-one battles!!"

Midnight, on top of the platform, pulled out a box that read 'Lots' and showed it to the students. "The matchups will be decided by drawing lots. Once that's settled, we'll move on to the festivities and then the tournament itself! It's up to each of you sixteen finalists whether or not you want to participate in the fun. I expect some of you would rather take a breather and save your strength... Now without further adieu, let's pull the matchups!!"

Midoriya vs. Shinsou

Todoroki vs. Sero

Shiozaki vs. Kaminari

Iida vs. Hatsume

Ashido vs. Katsuo

Tokoyami vs. Yaoyorozu

Tetsutetsu vs. Kirishima

Uraraka vs. Bakugou

Izumi decided to not participate in the games and instead use that time to strategize. She thought about what her opponent's quirk could be. She knew that he had used it to take control of everyone's mind during the cavalry race, but past that was just her speculating. How precise was his control? What activated it? Did it have a time limit? Before she knew it enough time had passed and she was walking to the stadium to fight him.

On her walk she saw Katsuo waiting for her.

"Hey Izumi!!" Katsuo waved at her and joined her on her walk. "Just wanted to ask you something before the event starts in earnest."

Izumi tilted her head in confusion and asked, "What?"

Katsuo smiled at her confused expression and stuck his hand out. "Meet you in the finals?"

Izumi looked at Katsuo's outstretched hand and smiled back at him, her smile blinding. "Yeah, meet you in the finals."
