Inquisitor

- Chapter: 25 -

After Izumi got her acceptance letter All Might contacted her and told her to meet him at Dagobah Beach, where she was trained by him for the past ten months.

"ALL MIGHT!!"

The pro hero spat blood out of his mouth and hastily yelled back at the green-haired girl. "WHO'S THAT?!"

A couple who were checking out the beach that they had read about in the paper. It had just gotten cleaned up from being an illegal trash dump by an unknown person. When they heard the number one pro hero's name being yelled they immediately reacted. "All Might?! No way?! Where?!"

With blood still spurting from his mouth like a fountain All Might tried to cover up Izumi's mistake. "Repeat after me! Just my eyes playing tricks on me!"

Izumi flayed her arms in the air and repeated after All Might "Just my eyes playing tricks on me!"

All Might sighed in relief when the couple stopped looking for him. He held an open hand up over Izumi's head and said "Congrats on passing."

Izumi looked up at the hand over her head and realized that All Might wanted a high-five and gave him one. After doing so, All Might continued speaking.

"You should know that I haven't told the school about our relationship. You seem like you worry about favoritism. I also wasn't a judge."

Izumi smiled faintly and responded, "I appreciate it..." and Izumi did. Ever since she got accepted she had been worrying that All Might had done something to help her get in. She was so worried about it in fact that she hadn't gotten any sleep the previous night, even with the sleeping arts that Katsuo had taught her.

"So, you're a teacher at U.A., All Might? That was a shocker. That's why we're meeting here... I get it. Even though your office is located in Tokyo's Minato ward, Roppongi 6-12..."

All Might cut her off from going any further, as she was starting to freak him out. "Stop it." After waiting a few seconds to make sure she was really done he spoke, "I couldn't tell anyone until the school made it public knowledge. I figured I could take the job at U.A. while searching for my successor."

Words All Might had spoke swirled into Izumi's head. 'I've been searching for a successor for a while now.' She looked down at her hands. 'Right...! He was gonna choose from amongst the students! With their amazing quirks... and raw talent... '

A sad look formed in her eyes and she realized that she had possibly taken the power away from someone much more worthy than herself. "One for All... My body is broken... after a single punch or kick... I just... can't wield it."

"That's just how it is. If someone suddenly grew a tail, it's not like they'd be able to do tricks with it right off the bat."

Izumi looked up at All Might and voiced her confusion. "Huh?" 'Wait a second does that mean..." she then looked up at All Might and yelled at him "So you knew this would happen?!"

All Might took a step back and started sweating. With his arms up as a barrier between them he averted his eyes. "Well... there wasn't enough time..." He then looked at Izumi and pointed a finger at the sky. "But everything worked out all right...! Or should I say ALL MIGHT!!"

He looked at Izumi's reaction and saw that she was not impressed. His eyes darted around and landed on some nearby cans on the ground. He saw a chance of changing the subject and went for it. "For now, it's all or nothing... But once you figure out how to regulate the power... you can put out as much as your body can handle. The more you temper your vessel... the better you can control the power!" All Might then grew into his muscle form and easily crushed the cans with one hand. "Like this."

All Might looked down at Izumi and saw wonder in her eyes, and mentally patted his own back for getting her to forget his mistake. 'Like when passing the Olympic Flame... the new torch burns weakly at first. But the coming tests and trials will fan it.'

The couple down on the beach noticed him and cried out, "Whoa! Huh...?! All Might?! Where'd he come from?!"

All Might cursed under his breath and quickly took off running with Izumi right behind him. 'Yes. My own flame with slowly wither and die... my duty fulfilled!... Wow, so somber.'

Spring, first day of school

Izumi had put on her school uniform for U.A. and was getting ready to go. She had gotten a text from Katsuo saying that they should go to school together and she didn't want to keep him waiting. However, she wasn't doing a very good job at it.

"Izumi! Have you got your pocket tissues?!"

"Yeah."

"And your handkerchief?! Have you got that?!

"Yes!! I've got it! No time. I've gotta hurry, Katsuo is waiting!"

"Izumi!"

"Whaaat?!"

Izumi's mom looked at her with slightly teary eyes. "You look great."

Izumi smiled at her mom. "Thanks, see you later!"

She opened her door, walked outside, closed it, and nearly had a heart attack from Katsuo suddenly appearing from behind the door when she closed it.

"GAAH!!"

"PFFFT"

Izumi shrieked and Katsuo started laughing at her. "Y-your, your face is... PFFT HAHAHA!!"

Izumi took a deep breath to calm herself and looked at Katsuo. "Why do you always s-scare me...?"

Katsuo abruptly stopped laughing and looked at Izumi as if she had just said the most ludicrous idea he had ever heard. He then pointed to himself and responded, "Because I find it hilarious when you get scared."

Izumi's face turned red and she hid it in her scarf. She could feel Katsuo about to start laughing at her again and she made a plan to avoid that. She started walking to school. Katsuo quickly turned to follow her. After that they got to the school without another incident.

When they reached the school Izumi could tell that if she didn't have Katsuo with her she would have gotten lost in the giant building. But, thanks to him guiding her she got to the classroom without a problem.

They stood in front of the giant door, right as Izumi was about to start psyching herself up, Katsuo grabbed the door and opened it.

The noise from the class following the door.
