CHAPTER FIVE

"We make memories as we breath" Aiyla

As soon as it was five am the entire house was awake and running around trying to get the last minute things done, Ruha went down with her suitcase for the men to put in the car before showering and dressing into comfortable black sweatpants and a beautiful long sleeved white top that said 'NEVER GROW UP, ITS A TRAP', she wrapped her veil around her head, she wore her slippers and went down with her phone and air pods and laptop all fully charged for the trip of almost 6 hours

Finally, the house was locked, and everyone was set to go, the adults and small kids were in the uncles car while Jamal, Ya Kamal, Adda, Farha and her were in the same car driver by Ya Kamal. Jamal I'm front seat, they were driving the Prado and the Sienna was being driven by the dad since it had more space

Time to go to Abuja, her worse nightmare

Jamal was chatting away on his phone and so was Farha and Adda while she was looking outside her window as they passed the gates of Kano, she'll miss it, ironically the place had become her home in the past years. Sure it wasn't always rainbows and candies but it was perfection in other senses

"OMG, I'm soo going to catch up with my friends this hols and I'm gonna attend parties, I can't wait" Adda Salma squeaked. Ruha rolled her eyes, of course and in her peripheral vision, she noticed that everyone else did the same. Adda was not vain but she is a popular Abs girl, Nile University law student and is a rich kid, she ironically has no boyfriend. With Ruha and Farha being 19, Adda and Jamal being 21 and Ya Kamal being 23, they will soon be on her case to start getting ready for marriage

Adda according to a rant Ruha overheard was always missing out the fun things being stuck in Kano and all

Oh well! She didn't care. She switched on her laptop and did a few reading and typing to pass time before moving to watching movies, cartoons to be exact, Miraculous ladybug, she's in love with it

Soon they were in Zaria where they visited a relative who turned out was going to join them in Abs soon, she didn't know the whole of her mothers clan were going to meet in Abuja this year for the whole summer, Umma called everyone saying its been long overdue

They stopped in Kaduna where four cousins and their parents joined them, the age group though separated and began the trip to Abuja, the car was noisy, filled to the brim with chatter, no one was even using their gadgets anymore, they were having wayyy too much fun

"Ruha" she looked up at Faisal

"Yeah"

"You've been quiet" he said

"Faisal, its no big deal, Ruha is always quiet" Adda replied and they resumed their discussion about who remembered the most cartoons and the songs

Ruha recorded them and posted it on her story with a caption #Alhamdulillah for family. All of them showed including her and even Ya Kamal

They stopped to pray and buy snacks before continuing the journey. It got to a point only Ruha and Ya Kamal were awake
