Chapter 10 The Stars

Zira and her Lioness reached the watering hole and saw a bunch of animals drinking and when they saw Zira they moved in fear as she bent down to drink with her Lioness. "Come on Kovu!" Vitani called as the lion cubs ran near the watering hole playing. As Zira got up she felt something bump into her and she looked and saw Kopa, "Sorry Zira" Kopa apologized.  Kiara ran down the hill to be with Kopa, "Sorry Zira we were playing and..." Kiara tried to explain. Zira grabbed Kopa to help him up and she smirked, "It's alright" Zira replied looking at Kiara. Before Kopa left Zira looked at him, "Be careful next time prince" Zira explained. Kopa nodded and ran away to catch up with the others.

Kopa was with Kiara and Kion, "Hey Kopa you ok?" Vitani asked joining them, Kopa looked at Vitani and smiled. "Yeah I'm fine" Kopa answered as they ran off heading for Ndefu Grove, as the kids ran Zira and her lioness watched. "What's on your mind Zira?" The Lioness asked curiously, "I guess if my kids are happy, I'll obey what Simba saids for now" Zira explained to the Lioness as they turned away heading for Pride Rock. But as Zira walked she was thinking, "Don't worry my beloved Scar I will avenge you one day and I'll make sure Simba pays and Kovu becomes King in your honour" Zira told herself.

As the sun was starting to set the six lion cubs laid on their backs watching the sunset, "It's beautiful isn't it" Vitani commented. Kopa looked at Vitani and smiled, "Yeah your right it is beautiful" Kopa agreed. Before anyone said anything else, "KOPA! KIARA! KION!" Zazu called landing in front of them. "Zazu!" They called in confusion, Zazu bowed, "Your parents would like you to come home" Zazu reported. Kiara stood up and looked at Zazu, "Alright we'll be there soon" Kiara answered. Zazu flew up and left them alone. Everyone got up and Kopa and Vitani still laid down, "Kopa you coming?" Kion asked. "In a little Kion, tell dad I'll be home soon" Kopa insisted, "Come on Nuka, Vitani will catch up" Kovu added as Kovu winked at Vitani. Vitani smiled and Kiara, Kion, Nuka, and Kovu left leaving Kopa and Vitani on the hill.

"You like watching the stars too" Kopa stated, Vitani smiled, "Yeah the stars are beautiful" Vitani commented. As Kopa put his paw down his paw touched Vitani's and they pulled their paws away and blushed. But quickly they just smiled at each other and laughed, "Well Vitani we should head home" Kopa suggested. "Agreed" Vitani agreed but when she got up she didn't see the rock and she fell forward onto Kopa and their noses touched. They blushed and Vitani got up turning away, "Vitani" Kopa whispered. Vitani stopped blushing and looked at Kopa, "Yes Kopa" Vitani said softly. "Do you like me?" Kopa asked feeling embarrassed, Vitani looked away and cleared her throat, "Why do you ask?" Vitani asked nervously. "Well whenever I'm feeling down you're always there and you make me feel better, and even though the others make fun of us about the way we look at each other it has me wondering if you like me" Kopa explained trying to look at Vitani.

Vitani breathed in and then out and turned to look at Kopa, "Kopa" Vitani called wanting to look away. "I..I..I.." Vitani stuttered not knowing how to phrase it. Kopa leaned in and kissed Vitani and her ears raised and she embraced it. "I like you" Kopa admired smiling, Vitani smiled and nuzzled Kopa as they kissed one more time. After they kissed they looked at each other and smiled, "KOPA! VITANI!" Zazu called heading for them and they quickly backed off and Zazu landed. "Come on your parents want you two home" Zazu explained. They both nodded and followed Zazu back to Pride Rock.

Kopa P.O.V

It's been 2 days after I showed my feeling for Vitani and since we're with our parents in the morning, and siblings in the afternoon, I can only meet Vitani at night. I won't complain I enjoy our time we watch stars together, we talk, we nuzzle, we hug, it's just the most amazing thing I ever felt.  I always admired the way Mom and Dad talked about how they fell in love, the problem is our love is secret the only person who knows is Kovu. The others say we love each other as a Joke and for now we want to keep it that way. I don't want to find out what would happen if Dad or Mom found out I'm in love with Zira's daughter.

"Does anyone else know? Are you seeing him tonight? Do you do the kissing thing? Do you nuzzle?" Kovu kept asking Vitani. Vitani covers Kovu mouth as two lionesses walked by leaving the den, "Kovu shhhhh no one else knows" Vitani whispered. Kovu nodded and Vitani uncovered Kovu's mouth, "Sorry I'm just really happy for you" Kovu explained. Vitani rubbed her paw on her brother's head and smiled, "Thanks Kovu means a lot" Vitani thanked smiling. "Anyway any development with you and Kiara" Vitani teased. "Kiara, me and Kiara" Kovu stated surprised. "Please little brother the way you look at her the way you talk with her...Kovu your in love" Vitani explained smiling. Kovu blushed and then looked away, "Am not" Kovu advised, Vitani smiled, "Whatever you say" Vitani added.

It was an early morning in the Pride Lands and Kopa was up and he saw Kiara, Kion, and his parents still sleeping. "Hey, if everyone is still asleep maybe I can go find Vitani and we can hang out before anyone else wakes up," Kopa told himself leaving Pride Rock to find Vitani. After Several Minutes Zira was awake and she decided to go for a walk and miss Simba's and Nala's happy morning routine with their kids. Outside, Kopa was skipping happily heading for the outsider's den and Zira saw Kopa and was curious. "What's that filthy Prince doing here?" Zira questioned, Zira decided to find out what he's doing and she decided to go to Kopa to find out more.
