Chapter 20 Learning the Past

Fang ran with Kopa and Kopa squirmed to get free, "Listen I know you're scared but you need to listen to me" Fang tried to say. "WHY!" Kopa yelled, "YOU LIED TO ME! MY NAME IS NOT REALLY LEON! KION WAS TELLING THE TRUTH BUT WHY DON'T I REMEMBER!!!" Kopa shouted. Fang grabbed his mouth and hid in the tall grass. Kopa tried to yell free but he stopped when he saw Zira looking. "Where did you go?" Zira asked out loud looking, "ZIRA!!!" Kiba called, Zira rolled her eyes and turned around to face Kiba. "What?" Zira asked, "We were able to kill some of the rebelling sabertooths but the ones we didnt kill are retreating towards the border" Kiba reported.

Zira laughed evilly, "Follow them and Kill them the borders to the Outlands, Backlands, and Pride Lands are broken becuase of Kion's roar those rebelling Sabertooths will be cornered" Zira explained. Kiba nodded and ran back to inform the others of Zira's plan, Fang looked at Kopa and he trembled in fear. Fang grabbed him and got them out of there before Zira could find them.

Back with the Lion Guard and their allies Fuli was with Kion while the others spoke. Skip looked at Kiara, "Is he going to be okay?" Skip asked. Kiara looked back and Kion looked better than before, "Fuli's there for him, in time he will" Kiara answered. "Good becuase we're going need everyone's help to land an attack again" Skip advised. "Attack again?" Mzingo asked again, Skip looked at Mzingo, "Yeah we need to save your home and my sister" Skip explained.  "There are too many of them" A Hyena added. Skip looked at that Hyena, "Don't tell me you're giving up" Skip was saying. "What chance do we have? They have sabertooths, wolves, Makucha, Kiba, Ruby, and Zira is leading them" The Hyena metioned.

"Wow, I thought Hyenas were braver" Skip teased, "WANT TO GO SQUIRREL!!!" The Hyena yelled, "BRING IT ON!!!" Skip yelled back. "ENOUGH!!!" Kiara shouted breaking their argument. There was silence, "Not now we just lost Rani and I'm pretty sure Talon wouldn't want to see you doing this Skip or Janja wouldn't approve of what you did Hyena" Kiara advised. Skip looked down and the Hyena and Skip apologized to each other. "GUYS!!!" Anga and Ono called landing down. Fuli and Kion ran over and Kiara looked at Kion and he nodded to show he was ready. "What is it Ono and Anga?" Kion asked, "We just saw the weirdest thing" Anga answered. "If it's about the collapse of the pass and how we can't travel to the other lands then we already know" Kion assumed.

"No, it's not that" Anga interrupted, "What is it then?" Fuli asked. Anga looked at Ono to let him say it. "We just saw Makucha and Kiba chasing sabertooths" Ono revealed, everyone was confused. "I'm sorry did I hear that right" Mzingo asked, "Yes" Anga answered, "Why would they be doing that?" Bunga asked. Kion thought for a second and remembered what Kiba and Makucha did to Fang back at the pass. Kion explained it to the Guard and it got everyone thinking, "If what your saying is true, where is Fang?" Skip asked. Kion turned and looked at their flyers, "Ono and Anga find and monitor those sabertooths and let us know what happens" Kion ordered.

"Affirmative" Yup" Ono and Anga agreed flying up to find those sabertooths again, Kion turned to face Mzingo and Skip. "Mzingo, Skip since you two can fly/glide find Fang and report back" Kion ordered. Mzingo and Skip nodded and they both flew away and Skip was on Mzingo, "What should we do Kion?" Beshte asked. "We wait, Beshte" Kion answered as the others just sat down and waited for more news.

Fang and Kopa were near Ndefu Grove and near-flat ridge rock and Fang let go of Kopa and he backed away and looked at Fang. "Listen I know you're scared of me and I get it but you deserve the truth so let me tell you it" Fang explained. Kopa reluctantly came closer to Fang and sat down.

Fang P.O.V

It's a long story but in short, my wife died from an incident I was unable to protect her and my village from raiders. Before she died she gave birth to a baby Sabertooth and I named him Leo, the surviving Sabertooths and I decided to find a better home so we can live a better life. Kiba was an old friend of mine and he recommended the backlands so we set course for it. But once we reached it Leo was playing near the edge and I grabbed him quickly before he fell but when I grabbed him I saw something on the shore. The Sabertooths and  I wet and we found a bleeding, injured Lion Cub...you, It took a long time and lots of our resources but we saved you and it seems you had a head injury so I named you after Leo.....Leon

I trained you under the sabertooth way and you and Leo grew up together like brothers and we lived good lives until a few years later Kiba came back to me and he needs my help and I owed him a favour so I followed. Turns out that's how I met Zira and started working for her, I was blind by revenge, greed, and hate she knew who was responsible for the raid and her evidence proved it was Lions from the Pride Lands. After hearing Zira's story that's when I realized who you really were and I knew if Zira found out she would kill you but I also didnt want to lose you. I may seem like a brutal sabertooth but I promised my wife to take good care of our children.

Kopa looked at Fang, "That's why I can't remember my past my head injury and I got new memories" Kopa assumed. Fang nodded, "Don't worry Leon....I mean Kopa, I will redeem myself we'll find Kion and his group and help them I'll pay for my actions and I will do this to owe Leo becuase of me he is dead. "Yes, he is," Zira said standing behind them, Fang turned quickly and Kopa hid behind Fang. 

"Just give up Fang and I'll make your death quick and painless" Zira promised, "If you want the Lion Cub you have to kill me first" Fang swore. Kopa looked at Fanf surprised, "So be it" Zira smiled sinisterly charging. "STAY HERE KOPA!!!" Fang shouted as he charged at Zira and their claws clashed.

Skip and Mzingo eyes widened as they heard that, "Fang and Zira are fighting and Fang wants to protect Kopa" Mzingo stated shock. "Let's head back and tell Kion" Skip suggested, Mzingo and Skip turned around heading back to the Lion Guard.

"Argh my head" Rani sighed as she got up but when she got up her leg hurt and she saw a gash across her leg. Rani looked up and saw a small hole, "I survived the fall" Rani coughed as she looked to determine where she was. Rani limped down the cave to find a way out and for more answers.
