Chapter 22 Memories

Rani stood up looking at Leo who was laying on his back and his paws were on his side and his breathing was very shallow. But, Rani stood there thinking and not knowing what to do next or how to approach this situation.

Rani P.O.V

What do I do...I mean I can't just leave him like this even though he is the enemy he doesn't deserve this. He young like me who probably got dragged into this by Fang, or is just another pond in Zira's game. 

Rani backed up, not knowing what to do, "Relax Rani...Relax..." Rani tried to calm herself as she breathed in and then out. Rani was thinking back to the fights and was remembering how Leo looked at her when they first saw each other. "Why did he give me that look?"... "Maybe he never met a lioness before"... "was it my Night Pride mark?" Rani questioned. Rani then remembered what Alex said back at the Tree of Life..... "you should go with the Lion Guard and help them in the pride lands and maybe on the way you'll find someone" Alex echoed in Rani's head.

"Is this what Alex meant?" Rani thought.....Rani quickly blocked that out, "No he is a sabertooth and he is evil" Rani told herself. But Rani looked and couldn't help but feel horrible and depressed about the way Leo lay there. "Is my guilt fighting me becuase it doesn't want me to leave someone I can help even if he is the enemy?" Rani asked herself.

Rani sighed, "He may be evil but I shouldn't let that stop me from helping someone in need," Rani told herself walking to Leo. Rani moved her body near his stomach, "Ok let's try this" Rani told herself as she pulled Leo's pa to get him on her back. Rani stumbled a bit and felt pain in her leg, "Ok...come...on" Rani grunted as she slowy limped while carrying Leo on her back. Rani looked and saw Leo was still unconscious, "Glad your unconscious becuase right now this would look ridiculous" Rani tried to joke as she continued to go down the cave.

Kopa ran and hid behind a rock as he watched Fang and Zira clash their claws and charge at each other to overpower the other. Zira rolled and scratched at Fang's leg, "Cheap shot" Fang grunted stumbling. Zira jumped up and smiled evilly and licked the blood off of her claws, "Bitter but enjoyable" Zira commented. Fang charged again and Zira kept dodging and Fang tried to dodge Zira's attacks.

"I will battle under the name of Alpha, for my wife, and that lion cub" Fang promised, Zira started to laugh sinisterly. "WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING!" Fang barked, Zira smiled evilly and looked at Fang. "You really believed your wife was killed by raiders?" Zira questioned, "OF COURSE!" Fang barked angrily.  Zira smiled again, "They were, not raiders...they were outsiders" Zira revealed. Fang's eyes widened hearing Zira say that, "No...no...you didn't" Fang kept saying backing up. Zira walked slowy towards him, "Oh yes it was me" Zira reassured. "WHY!" Fang shouted, "She was weak, pathetic, I needed warriors and the sabertooths were perfect but I need a way to assure you would join me so once I found out about a sabertooth camp we attacked and murdered as much and left and I hoped one day they would come back becuase I played carefully to make it look like animals from the Pride Lands did it" Zira explained.

"YOU PLANNED THIS FOR YEARS!!!" Fang shouted in confusion, "YES! I wanted to rule the Pride Lands so I planned a long time and in the end it worked becuase once again I'm the queen of new outsiders and the Pride Lands" Zira exclaimed. Fang yelled and ran at Zira to attack, Zira raised her claws to block but this time Fang was chipping away causing Zira to move back. "Your anger is a powerful weapon Fang but it can also be your downfall" Zira explained swiping her open paw below cutting Fang on his side. Fang backed up and placed his hand on the mark and saw blood.

Zira kicked Fang back and Fang slid over too Kopa and Kopa looked at him, "Sorry Kid" Fang sighed weakly. Kopa looked and saw Zira coming, "Well...this seems familiar doesn't it Kopa" Zira stated. Kopa was having flashbacks to when Zira was hunting him down in the tall grass, Fang limped back up and blocked Zira's way. "You want him gotta kill me first" Fang growled, "FINE!" Zira growled back preparing to attack. Zira charged and clashed with Fang again but Fang could only use one paw while the other blocked blood from oozing out on his side. "Kopa you need to remember who you are from what I heard you were a brave, strong, and loving lion" Fang tried to tell him. "SHUT UP!!!" Zira yelled slamming her claws as Fang blocked, Fang mostly looked in Kopa's direction.

"Remember you were the firstborn to Simba current King of the Pride Lands son of Mufasa" Fang tried to remind. "NO IM THE QUEEN!!! SIMBA IS DEAD JUST LIKE MUFASA" Zira shouted trying to break through Fang's defence, "You are the older brother of two other lion cubs, Kion and Kiara" Fang added. "Simba, Mufasa, Kion, Kiara" Kopa repeated thinking. Zira's claw pierced Fang's shoulder and he yelled in pain but still attacked, blocking Kopa from Zira. "Think Fang...think...what could bring him back," Fang thought.

 Fang was thinking back to the story of Kopa and thought of something, "Kopa you need something that will click your memories and I think I got it" Fang told him but Zira pierced Fang's other side and more blood was coming out. Fang fell back and hit the ground and Kopa's eyes widened in fear, "DIE! DIE! DIE! ALREADY!" Zira yelled about to stab her claw through Fang's stomach. "VITANI!!!" Fang shouted, Kopa stopped and his head was hurting and he looked up at Fang..."Vitani..." Kopa whispered.
