So it turns out, I did not get any sleep that night. I'm not complaining, though. And the next few days were so fun. We spent a lot of time together before tour.
But the inevitable had arrived. He was going on tour and I had to stay behind to take care of things for Brian here, since he was going too. I felt a few tears beginning to fill my eyes as I helped him pack the last of his things.
"Brielle, I won't be gone for that long. And it's the UK tour. I'll be back before ye know it." I sighed as I walked over to him and wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his arms around my waist. "I know, but I'm going to miss you." We hugged and he kissed me.
"I will miss ye too. I'll call you whenever I 'ave the chance." He kissed my forehead as he pulled away from our embrace. The driver that was sent to pick up George that was outside, and he honked the horn. "Please be safe. And call me." I put my coat on since it was cold, and helped him carry some of his bags to the car and I put them in the trunk.
"One more kiss until next time?" He asked, as he opened his arms. I ran into them and I kissed him passionately. "Until next time." He kissed my cheek and got into car. I moved away from the car a little and watched as the car drove off. We continued waving to each other until the car disappeared.
What was I supposed to do while he was gone?
I entered back into the now extremely quiet house and I sat on the couch. I looked around to try and find something to do. I reached over to the phone to call Jace, but apparently he was busy because Ruth answered the phone and told me so. She also had a date, and so did Mimi. So I was alone for the night, I guess.
Maybe I should go shopping. I do need a new coat. I grab my old coat and I drive George's car to the mall. I walked into one of the clothing stores and began to look around at the products. "Brielle?" I heard someone call out, and I turned my head in the direction the voice came from. When I recognized who it was, my eyes widened and I gasped.
"Adam?"
He walked over to me and hugged me. "Brielle! I haven't seen you in a long time! What are you doing here?" He pulled away from the hug and I blushed a little as he looked at me up and down. "You look amazing!" I thanked him and we began to catch up as I looked around for a coat.
Who's Adam? Oh, he's my ex-boyfriend. We dated before I moved to the UK. We used to be best friends and grew up together in the same neighborhood. He was my childhood friend until I moved and met Jace, Mimi and Ruth in the UK. He's of Native American descent, and when he first came to my kindergarten, no one wanted to talk to him, so I hung out with him and we were friends ever since, until we started dating of course. The break-up didn't damage our friendship, though. We just drifted apart because of the long distance.
Once I found a coat that I wanted, he walked me over to the cashier. "Oh! Let me pay for it!" He reached into his wallet, but I stopped him. "No! It's alright, I'll pay-" "No! Let me!" He handed the cashier his card and he paid for it. I grabbed the bag and walked with him to my car. "Thank you for paying, even though I specifically told you not to." He chuckled and smiled. "Trust me, I don't mind at all."
We stood next to the car and I chuckled. "Well I guess I should get going." I played with my hair nervously. "Yeah me too. But I'm so glad I got to see you today. We should catch up sometime. Like over dinner." His sweet smile appeared on his face, and it made me smile. "Alright sure. I'd like that."
We exchanged numbers and said goodbye to each other. I watched him walk to his car, and I bit my lip.
He was the sweetest guy I ever met, before George of course. The second I thought of his name, the more I missed him. Maybe hanging out with Adam might help me, since no one else seems too busy right now.
So after all of that, I drove back home and put the coat away. I never felt so lonely in my life, and I hated it. I decided to sit and watch TV before heading to bed. Once I got into bed, the phone rang, so I got up to answer it.
"Hello?" I asked, and I smiled when the voice of George responded.
"Hello, love. How are ye?""I'm okay. Just missing you a lot. How are you?"
"I feel the same way. I miss ye too. How was yer day?" He asked me and I let out a huge sigh.
"Honestly, it was boring. The house is so quiet without you."
"I know. But remember, I'll be back before ye know it. Go hang out with some friends, have fun."
I took his words in and listened to him closely. We then talked about getting a pet, which I would love, and then other things. And a 2 hours passed by and we didn't even notice.
"Brielle, I have to go get some rest. But I'll call ye tomorrow, alrigh'?"
"Oh... Alright Geo. Goodnight."
We hung up and I put the phone back on the receiver. I totally forgot to mention Adam. I guess I'll tell him when he gets back. Anyway, I turned off all the lights and went to the bedroom. I got ready and I hopped into the empty bed. Gosh, I never knew I could miss someone so much.
I held onto the blankets and smiled when I held onto George's pillow. It had his scent on it, and it reminded me of him and how lovely he smelled. I ended falling asleep with the pillow in my grip, and I didn't let go the entire night.
