"Aww George is going to love this!" I said as Pattie took me outside to show me the gift that I had bought and she went to pick up.
I had bought George a new car. And inside the car was a new guitar.
"Adam? What are ye doing here? What's going on?" George asked, and I heard him so I quickly went inside and held George's hand. "I thought you were recording right now."
"I was, but I wanted some water." He looked around in confusion. "What is going on here?"
Brielle! Quick! Think of something!
"Pattie and Adam brought Jordan over because she wanted to give you a gift." I turned to her. "Why don't you go grab your gift for George?" I told her and she quickly got up and ran into his office and grabbed his gift.
"Happy birthday, Mr. George! I hope you like it! I made it myself!"
He took the gift and smiled. "Thank you love." She ran back to Zuri as they continued to play, and George looked at the wrapping. "Well, it's special alright." He smiled and headed into the kitchen. just as Adam finished hiding the cake and drinks.
He got himself a glass of water and turned towards the yard. "Maybe I should go outside for a bit."
I remembered that Adam and Pattie wanted to decorate the backyard for the party, so I gasped. "NO!" Adam and I yelled at the same time, which made George even more confused. "Why not?"
"Because... I want to..hear some of what you're working on!" I pushed him towards the studio and I looked back at Adam and mouthed to him to hurry up.
"What do you want hear?" He sat down at the mixing board and I sat on his lap.
"Any song! It doesn't matter." I told him, and he looked over to the mixing board as a song began to play. I got up, and walked towards the door, peeking my head out to see what was going on. I saw that Ringo was now here helping Pattie and Adam, and it seemed like everything was almost done.
"Sounds nice. I'm gonna go... check on Zuri." I quickly left the room and closed the door behind me.
"What about me song?" George asked faintly as I walked away and looked around the house. There were a few more gifts piling up and the cake and snacks were set up and the yard had a few tables and chairs.
I greeted Ringo and applauded their work. "Thank you guys so much. Everything is just perfect. It's not too little and it's not too much."
"Hello?" I heard someone say at the door as they knocked, so I opened it. I gasped as the person who was there shocked me. "Eric?" I questioned, and this made Pattie's head turn. "Eric? What are you doing here?"
"I just came to give George this gift." He held out a wrapped box to me. "Uh.."
"I don't want to start anything. I just wanted to give him this. Him and I were best mates one time." His eyes landed on my small baby bump.
"Congrats..." He said softly. "Just wish it was mine." He winked and said softly as he gave me the gift and began to walk away.
Who in their right mind says that?
His comment horrified me, and I quickly slammed the door. I stood there shaking.
"Brielle? Are you alright?" Adam asked me as he walked over to me.
"What is going on out here? Ringo?" He greeted his good friend. "Happy birthday, baby boy." George looked around until he looked at me.
"Brielle? What's wrong?" He walked over to me, and lifted my chin with his finger to make me look at him.
"E-Eric... he came over and.. and uh... he wanted to give you this." I proceeded to put a fake smile on my face and I handed him the gift, but he took it and threw it behind him. "What did he do? Brielle, you're shaking and you look scared. Tell me what happened."
I turned to see Pattie, Adam and Ringo listening attentively, before they took Jordan and Zuri outside.
Once they went outside, I told George what Eric had told me. "I'm not going to let 'im ruin my day or yers. I'll deal with him tomorrow. But are ye okay?"
I took a deep breath and I rubbed my bump softly. "Yeah I'm alright."
"Now let's have this party, yeah?"
I looked up at him. "How did you know about the party?"
"Ye didn't think I would notice with all the sneaking around and stuff?" He laughed.
"Fine. We just wanted to give you an amazing birthday, that's all."
I took him outside and we joined everyone else. And after a while, Paul, Linda, their kids, John, and Yoko. George pulled me to the side and whispered. "Why is Yoko here?"
"Well I invited John, and she came along. It's like a combo deal. You ask for one, you get both."
"She stole me biscuit."
"George, that was YEARS ago."
"But the pain is still there." He pouted, and I haven't laughed so hard in a while. "You're an adorable fool." He kissed me and And when Bob Dylan showed up, George left me for the rest of the night.
"George, come here." I called to him, as I brought out the cake and placed it on the table. We all sang happy birthday to him, and he blew out the candles.
"To many more birthdays, George!" Ringo toasted, and we all cheered. "To many more birthdays!" We had some champagne, and the kids had apple juice, then we all enjoyed the cake.
"This has been one of the best birthdays I've had in years." George said as we sat back on our patio chair and cuddled. "Thank you, love." He kissed my cheek, and I blushed.
"Hey George!" Bob called, and George quickly got up and went over to Bob. "Hey!"
"Sorry!" He said back as he occupied himself with whatever Bob had to say.
