After the party, George walked over to me, pulling me away from Adam.

"Come on. Let's go home." He reached for my hand, but I moved my hand away.

"I'll go home when I'm ready. I have to talk to Adam."

"Then I'll wait."

"Just go home, George."

"No! So ye can sneak off to Brian?"

"If I do that, that's my decision. You can't dictate what I can't and can't do."

We glared angrily at each other directly in the eyes.

"Come in. You both need to settle this." Adam took us to his living room and we sat down, and Pattie took the kids to Jordan's room.

"George, you cheated. You hurt Bri. When I saw her earlier, she was a mess. You did that. Put yourself in her shoes. Her husband, a man that she should be able to trust, ends up getting another woman pregnant. She has every right to feel however she's feeling." Adam said, and it caught us off guard.

"Now think about that, and stop arguing like children. Your kids notice the tension, and so did a few people that were here earlier. FIX THIS."

He got up and left George and I in the room.

"He's right. I don't even know where to begin. I can say sorry all I want, but I've been saying that already. Saying it doesn't do anything. But I want you to know that I'm extremely sorry. It shouldn't have happened. And even though it did happen, I should've been more careful."

Excuse me? He's sorry because he wasn't careful with his cheating?

"Sorry. I didn't mean it like that. I just... I'm really sorry. But I didn't know she would end up pregnant! If I knew how to fix this and make it right, I would've done it yesterday. I can't imagine how ye feel. And it's my fault. I failed as yer husband."

"You did. It's your job to be faithful to me. I shouldn't have to fight off every woman that throws themself at you. You should be doing that yourself. I love you so much, but you hurt me so bad. If I were to forgive you, it would still  take a long time to "get over" it."

"And I completely understand. So where do we go from here?"

I shrug. "We'll see. But I'm still mad at you. So stop with the holding hands and kissing stuff. I don't like you very much right now." I got up and went to get the kids.

"Wait." George stopped me, and pulled me into a small kiss.

I didn't hate it, but I didn't like it either.

"Don't ever do that again, while we are going through this." I escaped his grip and brought the kids to his car.

"I'll see you soon." George smiled softly as he drove back home.

"How was it?" Adam asked as I helped him start clean up.

I shrugged. "It was okay."

Adam frowned, and walked over to me.

"You love him, Brielle. I know you do."

"And how do you know that?"

"Remember after you broke up with him years ago? And I told you that I always wanted to take you out on a date like we used to do when we were together?"

"I think so.."

"I told you that I decided not to ask because you were so sad and depressed about leaving George. Even though you didn't realize, you were always talking about him. Always wondering how he was doing. And what he was doing. That's when I realized you were in love with him, and that I didn't have a chance with you, so I let you go."
