It continued to play over in my head.

It couldn't be true.

I refused to hear it.

I had to know if it was true.

I would have to wait until George left the studio in order to ask him. Beg him for the truth.

I looked over at my sleeping son and napping daughter as I twiddled my fingers and gulped nervously.

Shes probably craving attention.

Or just mad that Ringo divorced her, and none of us were keeping in contact with her.

The door to his studio opened, and George peeked his head out. " 'Eh Brielle, Can you make a call for me while I finish my albu-"

"George, we need to talk."

His face expressed confusion and a little fear as he stepped out from the studio and entered the main room.

"Yeah? What's bothering ye?" He sat down next to me, and I quickly got up and gave him the newspaper that I had received earlier.

He was more confused than ever, but he looked at it anyway, before his eyes widened. "WHAT?!" He screamed, but then I pointed to the sleeping children in the room, and he covered his mouth.

"This can't be true! It isn't true!" He panicked, and looked over at me. "It's not true!" His eyes searched mine to see if I believed him, but I knew that he saw that I was unsure.

"It doesn't matter what I think. The whole world is going to want to know the truth." I said, taking the newspaper from his hand and reading the front page again.

"Ringo Starr's Ex Claims That Daughter belongs to George Harrison from an ongoing affair!"

I could only cringe as the paper fell from my hands. George's fists balled up. I could see the amount of stress he was under. We've been losing a bit of sleep because of Danny, he's been working on the new album that was supposed to be coming out soon, and now this.

I felt bad for him. One problem after the other. They just continued to pile up, and after he dealt with one, another one piled on. And I honestly couldn't imagine what he was going through. The amount of stress wasn't good.

Knowing him, I knew where he went. To his meditation room. And he needed it honestly. Maybe he needed somewhere to go when he was stressed and needed some time that wasn't in the house....

I picked up the paper and quickly dumped it in the trash. Because that what the article was. Utter, Absolute trash. All Maureen and the media wanted to do was destroy what George and I have, but I wasn't going to let that happen.

I waited until George finished meditating and he came downstairs and sat next to me. He looked down at the floor as he placed some hair that was on his face behind his ear.

"If you want me to tell her to stop with this, I will do it." He sat back, and looked at Danny and Zuri. "I'm gonna invite her over tonight. We need to talk to her." I agreed, and he stood up, looking at me.

"Why does something always come up and tries to tear us apart?" I hugged him tightly. "It doesn't matter about why it happens, but I won't let them break us up." He hugged me back tightly, and kissed my cheek. "Thank ye, love. I really need this."

"I know, Geo. I love you."

"I love you too."

The doorbell cut us off from our hug, and we went over to the door.

"What's this I hear about me daughter being yers?" Ringo asked angrily, as he headed to George and pushed him slightly.

"Ringo, calm down. We are trying to get to the bottom of it." I stood between them both and looked at Ringo.

"That's me little girl. I couldn't imagine her belonging to someone else, especially one of me best mates." George looked over at Zuri, and his eyes softened up.

"I understand how ye feel."

He walked past me and hugged Ringo, and Ringo hugged back.

Then we updated him about what we were going to do as we headed to the kitchen to sit and talk about everything.

"Hi, Unc Witchie!" Zuri said, her voice a bit groggy as she sat up from her spot and ran over to Ringo.

"Hi, sweetheart." He picked her up and and kissed her cheek. "Did ye enjoy yer nap?" She nodded, then reached for her daddy. George happily took her into his arms and placed her on his lap and kissed her forehead.

"We need to talk to her. ASAP." I said, reaching for the phone as Ringo dialed her number.

"Hello?" She answered, and rage overcame me.

"Listen here, you little-" Ringo covered Zuri's ears.

"I got it!" George said, rushing over to me and taking the phone from me before I could finish my sentence.

"Maureen, ye need to stop with these rumors about ye 'aving me child. It isn't fair. Ye are destroying me family and me relationships with me friends."

"You destroyed me, George! We both were having an affair, and what did you get? Your wife and friends back and two children! What did I get? My husband leaves me, I don't get to see my children as much, I've lost some friends and I have no one to love." She sniffled.

George froze on the phone, and I watched his reaction change from frustration to hurt. "What did she say?" I asked angrily, but Ringo rubbed my arm assuringly.

"Trying to ruin me won't solve any of those things."

"Well I'm not trying to ruin you. I think she's actually yours, George. You know we didn't use protection."

I looked on as his face looked pale, and it was drained of blood. As if he's seen a ghost or something.

"George?" Ringo asked.

"I'll talk to you later." George hung up and quickly took a seat in the main room. His arm rested up on the arm rest of the chair as he rubbed his mustache. He hasn't looked so stressed in his life.

"What did she say?" I sat next to him and asked him, and Ringo and Zuri joined us.

"She honestly thinks that Lee is mine." He gulped nervously as Ringo's face proved that he was hurt.

"Didn't you use protection when you two... y'know..." He looked at me when I asked, before looking down and shaking his head.

"Oh my f-" I saw Zuri in the corner of my eye and sighed. I looked at Danny sleeping and Zuri, and then I got up and headed to a guest room before grabbing the pillow and screaming into it.

When I got my anger and frustration out, I went back to join George and Ringo, who had a few tears streaming down his eyes.

"I never meant to hurt ye, Ringo." He fiddled with his fingers as he looked down. When I entered the room, George stood up and met me halfway.

"Please don't be angry with me." He pleaded as his eyes began to water. "I need ye right now. Don't leave me alone."

Dang. Why did I have to be so in love with him?

"W-Well... alright. If she is yours, I guess we can't do anything to change that." I took a deep breath, before George pulled me into a hug, and I could feel his tears wetting my shirt.

"When it seemed like I couldn't mess up anymore than I have, my mistakes seemed to get worse." George sobbed into my shoulder.

I've NEVER seen him sob like this before. "I'm tired." He said, letting go of me. "I'm tired of everything. I haven't slept, the album is killing me, and now this." He let out a frustrated yell before punching the wall, leaving a dent in it, then walking past me and to his office, slamming the door shut and locking it.

I stood there completely shocked and quite scared.

"Baba?" Zuri knocked on the door with tears in her eyes. "Play Baba?" She said, as she continued to knock, but George didn't answer, and she began to cry.

Ringo eyes were red as he said goodbye and left.

I looked at Zuri, trying to put a smile on my face. "Let's go have a snack Alright?" I told her, heading into the kitchen.
