George groaned as he lazily threw himself on to our bed. "It's amazing how four kids tire me out so fast." He rubbed his eyes and crawled back under the sheets. I followed him into the room with Noelle in my arms.

Now I know, you're probably like "wait what? 4 kids?" Well, it's been almost two months and we decided to find a kid to adopt. We did direct adoption, and not fostering. And we ended up with Chris. He's a couple months older than Zuri, and we decided to take him in because the older the kid is, the less likely they are to get adopted, sadly.

So we are in the house with a 7 year old, 6 year old, 4 year old and 2 year old. God help us.

"George, we just had breakfast. The day is just starting." I pull the sheets off of him, and he groans again, making Noelle laugh.

"I'm just glad you love kids more than anything. You handle them better." He stretched his slim body and sat back up. "I just want to sleep and make music. And make love to you." He ran a hand through his hair as he sat back.

"Shush, George." I blushed profusely and place Noelle on the bed, and she crawls straight towards George. And he picks her up and kisses her cheek.

"Mommy! Danny won't give me my toy back!" Zuri ran into the room with Danny right behind her. "I just want to play with it, Mommy." His eyes began to fill with tears, as if he did something extremely wrong.

"Zuri, why can't Danny play with this one, and you find another one to play with?" I picked up Danny and rubbed his back as his tears soaked through my shirt.

She pouted and crossed her arms. "Because I want that one."

George got out of bed and took Noelle with him, and walked over to Zuri. "Instead of playing, let's go watch a movie, yeah?" She nodded and held her dad's hand as he took his girls to the main room.

I followed them to the main room, but I grew worried when I didn't see Chris.

"Where is Chris?" I asked, but no one knew.

Danny and I headed to Chris' room, where he sat on his bed, looking quite sad.

"Are you okay?" I knocked before entering, which caught his attention.

"Oh. Yeah, sure, Mrs. Harrison." He sat up and gave me a small smile.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong." He is such a bad liar.

"You can talk to me. I might just become your mother soon." I smiled, hoping he would smile back, but he didn't.

"I doubt it."

"What do you mean?"

"Why would you and Mr. Harrison want me? I'm not a baby. Everyone picks the babies. I'm 7. And you and Mr. Harrison are famous. Why would you want a nobody like me?" He began to cry softly, and my heart broke.

I don't know exactly what he's been through, but I'm sure it's been a rough ride. All I know is that for 6 years, he hasn't had a stable, loving home to be in. But I felt like it was my job to give him that. I wanted to change his life. And I know I couldn't do that for every kid, sadly, but just helping one kid is enough for me.

I reached over and hugged him tightly as he cried into my shirt, and Danny, who sat between us, hugged Chris tightly as well.

"Our fame doesn't dictate who we do and don't love. We love you because you're you. You're somebody important to us. And you're not a baby obviously, but we love you anyway. And I'll try my best to make sure you stay here. Where we'll love and take care of you."

Chris hasn't been here too long, but we try to make it as comfortable and loving for him as possible.

"This is the best house I've ever been in. And not because it's big. But I get to have other siblings who play with me, and Mr. Harrison showing me how to garden, and you getting me new clothes and taking care of me. I really appreciate it."

"First of all, I'm glad you're enjoying it here. And not only that, you don't have to keep calling us Mr. and Mrs. It makes us sound really old. Call us anything but that." I chuckled softly, and a huge smile spread across his face.

"Now join us in the main room for a movie." He stood up and Danny got off the bed and held his hand. "Okay, Mommy." My heart fluttered when he called me that, and I joined my boys as we headed to join the rest of the gang.

George and I sat on the couch as the kids sat on the floor. I rested my head on his shoulder and he kissed my forehead, as we watched the movie.

Halfway through the movie, the phone rang and I got up to go answer it.

"Hey, Bri! I heard that you called, so I wanted to know what's up."

"So Chris' birthday is coming up and I want to plan a huge party for him. And I'm going to need help."

"Chris? Who is Ch-"

"You'll see when you get here. Just come over."  I hang up and I was about to rejoin my family, when the phone rang again.

"Hello?"

"Hello, love! How are you?" Harold's voice said through the phone.

"Hello, Harold! I'm great! How are you?"

"I'm great! I was just thinking about ye and George and the kids, so I thought about maybe stopping by soon. Just to check in."

"Uh, I'll talk with George, but that doesn't sound bad at all. I can't wait to see you!" I said eagerly, and we finished our conversation, so I hung up and headed to George.

"Grandpa is coming!" I told them as I sat down.

"Me dad?" George asked and I nodded. "And My friends." George smiled softly as we continued to watch the movie, until I got bored and began to prepare lunch.
