"Hurry up, Bri! I want to see it!" Mimi called out to me from outside the dressing room and I finished zipping up the dress. "Alright! I'm done!" I said, and I walked out from the dressing room.
"You look gorgeous!" Ruth said and Mimi nodded in agreement. "That's the one!" She said and I looked in the mirror. "I love this one!" I said, and Zuri looked at me in the dress and blew a raspberry. "Ahh nobody asked you, Zo." I joked, which made the three of us laugh.
It had been a couple months of just planning, since taking care of Zuri was and is our main priority. And George had been very busy planning a concert for Bangladesh with Ravi, so we haven't seen him much. Ruth and Mimi were staying with us until the wedding, which was very soon. And Zuri had grown into a beautiful 9 month old baby.
"I have to take this dress!" I glanced once more at the dress and smiled. This was definitely the one. I went back into the dressing room and took the dress off. When I finished, I made sure alterations would be made to the dress so it would fit me better. Then it was Mimi and Ruth's turn to try on some ideas we had for the bridesmaids dresses. So I took Zo from Mimi and waited for them to try it on.
"It's gorgeous!" I said, and Brielle giggled as she looked at the designs. "I love it, Bri!" Mimi said, and Ruth blushed. "I actually picked the dress out." She said, and I nodded. "And you did a lovely job too." After we picked our dresses out and bought them, we went back to Friar Park, and George was getting out of his car and heading into the house.
"Hey, Geo." I called out to him, and he ran over to me and took Zuri out of my arms and placing a kiss on my lips. "How was work?" I asked, and he smiled even wider. "It's going great. We have all the major details for the concert in order. And where did ye go?" He asked, looking at the large bags we had in our hands. "Wedding shopping. Did you even buy your suit?" He shook his head and sighed.
"No I haven't. I was going to go with Eric and look at some. But I don't really care about what suit I wear. I'm just happy that we're getting married." I heard faint "Aww's" from behind us, coming from Ruth and Mimi. We entered the house and George placed Zuri on the carpet in the living room, and she began to slowly crawl to her toys.
George watched Zuri with a proud smile on his face as he watched her crawl around. I stood next to him and watched her. "We made her." He said, with more pride. "I know." She sucked on her pacifier and looked over to George with a huge smile on her face. George joined his daughter on the floor and played with her.
"You are one of the luckiest women alive." Mimi said to me softly, and I smiled as I looked at George and Zuri on the floor. "I know."
After that, Mimi and Ruth decided to stay for dinner, so I began to make dinner while they relaxed in the living room with Zuri. And as I was cooking, George stood behind me and smiled. "Burning down the kitchen again, yeah?" I playfully hit his arm. "Be quiet. Unless you want to help make dinner." I crossed my arms and looked at him. "I would love t-" The doorbell cut him off, so he went to go see who it was.
"Hey, guys..." I heard George say, but I couldn't see who it was. Once everything began to warm up, I wiped my hands and went to see who it was. "Oh hey! How are you?" I said to Paul, Ringo and John and Yoko. We all hugged as I greeted them, and Paul and John looked back at George.
"What are ye doin' here?" He asked them, and John placed his arm around George's neck. "We came to see ye and Brielle! It's been forever and we heard that the two of ye were getting married, so we had to come see how our baby brother was doing!" George chuckled nervously and gave them a small smile.
"Well come in! We would love to have you over for dinner!" I said, and George looked at me as if he was saying "Do WE really want to have them over?" I led them to the living room, and they greeted Ruth and Mimi. George joined them in the living room and just silently observed them.
We joined the others in the living room and they were looking at Zuri. Ringo smiled as he played peek-a-boo with Zuri. "Who's this precious girl?" George smiled when he looked at Ringo making his daughter laugh. "That's me babygirl, Zuri." He responded, and Paul and John looked at him.
"You had a baby?" Paul asked in shock, and stated that he didn't know, and neither did John."Yes. 9 months ago." He picked her up and placed her on his lap, but she slid off and slowly crawled her way to Ringo. But it didn't seem to bother George. He actually loved seeing that. She soon went back to her toys though, and not that much later, Cleo came out from her cage and ran over to Zuri, who loved the attention she was getting from Cleo, and Cleo was getting from Zuri. Zuri's small arms wrapped around Cleo's neck as she hugged Cleo, and Cleo panted happily and wagged her tail excitedly. Seeing that made everyone's heart just overflow with happiness, especially George's and Ringo's. And thank heavens that I was able to see it from the kitchen.
After a while, I finished making dinner for everyone and soon called them to the table, and even though George seemed tense throughout the dinner, he eased up the more the boys talked to him and congratulated him. And after dinner, the boys and Yoko wished us well, which I thanked them for, and they left. While George was getting Zuri ready for bed, I showed Mimi and Ruth to their rooms that they would be staying in until the wedding. It was going to be great having them around.
