(Let's talk about how cute that gif is 😍 )
I woke up the next morning to the sound of the phone ringing. I got up and stretched as I headed towards the phone and picked it up. "Hello?" My voice said, sounding a bit raspy and groggy since I had just woken up.
"Good morning, Bri! How are you?" Adam's voice said through the phone and I began to smile.
"Good morning, Adam. What's up?" I moved my hair away from my face and fixed my clothes a bit.
"I just wanted to check up on you." I giggled softly. "At 6 am?" He chuckled softy.
"Yeah sorry about that. It sounds like I woke you up! I'm sorry!"
"No! It's alright. Well since you wanted to check up on me, I'm doing fine. A bit lonely, but I'm hanging on." I said softly, as I began to think about George.
"Well why don't we go somewhere and hang out? To Catch up a little bit?"
I was a bit unsure, but why not? I really didn't have much to do besides head over to the office and check up on a few things. We were friends after all, so hanging out wouldn't hurt.
"Alright sure! Come over at 8." I gave him the address and we hung up.
I got ready to go out and ate a little breakfast before 8 came, and as soon as it did, the doorbell rang. He's right on time. Like he always used to be when we were together.
I walked up to the door and opened it, and I was greeted with his smile. "Hey, Riff!" He called me by a nickname he used to call me, which just meant I'm stubborn. "Stop calling me that!" I said jokingly, and playfully slapped his arm as I invited him in. "Alright then, Tiny Chocolate." I instantly wanted to slap him for bringing back these nicknames. "Stop!" I laughed-whined and he began to laugh as well. "Well since we are doing that, then I guess you wouldn't mind me calling you Takoda or Beanstalk." I said with a huge smirk on my face and he smiled. Takoda is a native name meaning "Everyone's friend" which he is. He's extremely friendly and makes everyone laugh.
"I haven't been called that in years. Don't do that." He laughed, and it made me laugh. "It's a good nickname for you." We, as in my friends and I, used to call him Beanstalk because his tall and pretty skinny body.
I grabbed some coffee and handed him some. "Thank you." I looked at his outfit, which impressed me. "You look nice today. What's the occasion?" He glared at me as I laughed. "Whatever. But you look good too." He smiled at me and sipped on his coffee.
I looked at the opened part of his shirt, where his chest peeked out, and I gulped harshly. It's been way too long since I've seen him. And he looked better than ever.
He caught me staring at his chest, and he chuckled. "Do you see something that interests you? You're staring pretty hard." I shook my head and drank my coffee. "N-No. I'm fine."
"Nice place by the way! It's really nice! Do you live here alone?" He looked around and I blushed. "No, I live here with my boyfriend, George. He's away on tour right now." He looked back at me and a small frown appeared on his face, then it turned into a neutral look. "Oh. Well I'm happy for you really." He smiled as he sipped on his drink and soon finished it.
After that little awkward exchange, we still decided to headed out to an amusement park and we had a lot of fun. After, We engaged and competed in some games at a boardwalk and took a little walk on the beach with all of our prizes we had won. We were both pretty competitive, so we started comparing our prizes and arguing playfully about who had more and who was better at what game.
As we were talking, I saw a few flashes of a camera and I turned, seeing that some paparazzi found me and were taking pictures. Adam didn't hesitate to chase them off and soon came back to me after they left. "What was that about?" He asked and I explained to him that my boyfriend, George, was George Harrison from The Beatles and his eyes widened. "Wow! Really? They are awesome!" He said in awe, and I laughed softly. But I cringed when I realized those pictures and some made up story was bound to come out in the papers and news tomorrow.
When he saw my face, he realized what just happened and it all sunk in. "I'll take you home." We walked to his car and we got in. He noticed how silent I was now, and he sighed. "I'm sorry. This is all my fault." "No! It's alright! I should've been more careful." I sighed softly. What is George going to think when he sees those pictures?
Once he brought me home, he walked me to my door. "I'm sorry again for today." He said and he hid his hands in his pocket. He looked sincerely sorry, as if it was his fault. "It's not your fault, Takoda." I said, and it made him smile. "Thank you for today. I really had fun." I took my prizes and belongings inside with me, and he walked in and leaned against the door frame. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow then. I can't wait to show you my new apartment."
I smiled and we hugged. I missed him so much, and I didn't realize it. Now, I knew I loved George. But it was amazing to have Adam back around.
After our hug, we waved to each other and he left.
I felt closer to home. It was great to have that again.
