~Brooklyn
"I know I said this the last time" Calum said to me. "But after this you really don't ever have to say anything to me again. "
I nodded my head as I stood in front of Calum.
"I'm surprised you even came to my house, honestly" he looked surprised. "... I'd thought you'd say no, or that you would be busy"
"I thought about saying something along those lines" I sighed , crossing my arms along my chest.
"Do you still love me?" Calum asked. "... Ugh, wait no. That was the wrong question to ask"
I stayed silent, looking around his living room.
"I'm just so happy I can hear your soft voice again" he smiled a little.
I rolled my eyes, not speaking to him.
"C'mon Brooklyn, I want to hear your voice" Calum said, his eyes watering.
"I miss you" he said "... If that even matters to you"
"Calum" I said softly. "You know it does"
"Then why aren't you with me?!" He easily got upset.
"Because I can't trust you!" I blurted out.
"W-why can't y-you?" He stuttered.
"Because one day you're in love with me, and then the next day you're In love with some dead girl" I said instantly regretting it.
Calum's eyes roamed freely around his apartment.
"I'm sorry" I said. "I shouldn't have said that"
"I know you like Luke" he said.
"I-I don't like Luke" I said
"You don't have to lie Bab- Brooklyn" Calum said "or used too"
"Yeah, I admit I had some feelings towards him, but they're gone"
There was a long silence until Calum spoke up.
"The only reason I can't say I love you and mean it is because I don't want you to end up like Quinn" he said.
"Huh?" I said obviously confused.
"Just because I say I was a good boyfriend to her, doesn't mean I actually was. I strive to be the best that I can with you but I can't. When I see you, I see her, and when I see her I just see hurt, and loss" he said. "I don't want you to be like her, because of me"
"I am nothing like her" I mumbled.
"Yes you are" he breathed. "I know you Brooklyn, and you are hurt"
"I-I'm not" I stuttered.
"Or you've done something wrong, that you regret"
"I-I don't know what you're talking about"
"Yes you do, but it's okay. Because I've done something wrong, and I'm going to tell you because I trust you"
I nodded my head.
"I am the reason Quinn died" he said. "I told her to kill herself"
"You probably didn't mean it" I said
"Oh, I did" he said. "Out of anger yes, but out of love no"
"I don't understand"
"She was causing me way to much trouble, I wanted her out of my life" Calum said.
"Now it's your turn, Brooklyn" Calum said.
"Calum I swear I don't know what you're talking about"
"Even though I've lied to you Brooklyn, you act like you've never lied to me. And right now you are lying to yourself, and then you are going to believe your lies"
Tears started to fill my eyes.
"Calum, I don't know!" I yelled.
"You remember Monica don't you?" Calum smirked.
I wanted to throw up all over the place. I haven't heard of her since I was 15, and I don't ever want to go back to those memories.
"Is there anything you want to tell me?" Calum asked.
I shook my head.
"Keep lying to yourself Brooklyn" Calum said. "We're all a little insecure, and we all tell lies"
He kissed my forehead once again.
"The truth will set you free, babe" he said before I quickly let myself out of his place.
