6) Don't Let The Colors Fade to Grey

The very next day Calum repeatedly called me.

No, I didn't pick up, but I wanted to.

I wonder how he's feeling. His thoughts and emotions. I also wonder if I'm constantly running through his mind.

Does he miss me? He probably doesn't.

I ran my fingers through my hair, and let out a frustrated sigh.

Maybe I should apologize.

But all I did was hold Calum's hand, and bam. Everyone hates me.

My phone rings again, and I look down and see that it's Calum. I pick it up and hold the phone to my ear.

"Before you say anything, hear me out, please." He said

I stayed silent.

"I'm sorry, Brooklyn. I didn't think it would get this out of hand. I just felt comfortable around you, so that's why I held your hand. And, I'm also sorry for calling you stupid. Your not, I'm stupid for even calling you stupid. I just don't ever want to stop talking to you. I like hearing your voice, and you not caring what I'm usually talking about. I just want it to be You and I, Love, no interferences. I'm so sorry Brooklyn. I really am" he said.

"Okay, Calum. I forgive you" I said.

He sighed in Relief.

"Thank God, I thought you were going to hate me forever"

"I probably might've. But I liked your apology so I forgave you." I said

"Can I see you?" He asked.

"I saw you yesterday ." I said plainly

"Yeah, I know. But I want to see you" he said.

"Do I need to get dressed up?" I asked. "Because I'm not doing that"

"No" he said. "We can maybe go to the top of the mountain, watch the sunset and just talk" he said.

"Yeah, that sounds good." I said.

"I'm gonna bring blankets, because it's cold" he said.

"Sure, do whatever" I said. "What time do you wanna meet up?" I asked

"5:15?" He asked

I looked at the clock and it was 4:39 pm

"Sure" I said.

"Alright, I'll see you soon" He said, and then hung up the phone.

I went into my bathroom, and looked at myself in the mirror.

My eyes were puffy, and my hair was messy. I quickly took a shower and got dressed.

I checked my phone and it was 4:57 pm.

I grabbed my car keys, and phone and headed out the door.

The mountains were a beautiful place. To get to the top, you didn't even half to walk far. I used to just sit up there and think a lot, but just stopped going.

By the time I got to the mountains it was 5:11.

I walked up, and spotted Calum, sitting down and looking at the view of a setting sun.

"Hi" I said, sitting down next to him.

"Hey" he replied back.

There was an awkward silence.

"It's beautiful isn't it?" Calum asked about the sunset.

"Yeah" I said.

"Oh, here" he said. "I almost forgot"
He took the other end of the blanket, and put it around me.

"Thanks" I said.

"You know, I've never been with a girl, who's made me feel so comfortable." He said. "You seem like you view the world differently than others, but in a beautiful way. I like that." He said

"And how do you know this?" I asked

"Just my observations, after 3 days" he said.

I smiled. "Interesting" I stated.

"I just like being with you." He said

I rested my head on his shoulder, as he pulled me in to his body, and his arm hung around my shoulder.

The sun was slowly setting, and we both watched in awe, of how something can be so beautiful.

"Calum?" I asked

"Yeah?" He said

"I'm worried" I said.

"About what?" He asked, and looked down at me.

"Your career. I don't want people to hate you for hanging out with me" I said.

"Brooklyn, if that ever happens, I'll deal with it then." He said. "But for now, let's just enjoy the moment"

I looked up at him, and then back at the view.

"Everything will be alright love, just appreciate what we have now"
