3: Danger At All Sides

Dust scattered in the air as the wind blew past the tattered buildings of the ruins of Montago City. It was a city located a few tens of kilometers away from the secret base.
The city was silent except for the howling of the winds when the screeching og rusty metals suddenly sounded out. It broke the desolate peace that permeated the place a while ago. The noise came from an old broken down house. Specifically, the basement.
The source of the sounds was actually a huge rusting manhole cover that opened up on its own. As for why there was a manhole cover, it was for the sake of covering up the currently rising platform that carried Alexa, George, and three other people.
"Were here!" A man with hawk like eyes said.
He looked strangely familiar. That huge body and intimidating aura never changed even after the game. It was Vanish, the top player of Dimensional Heroes Online.
"The energy fluctuation was detected just a few hundred meters from here, right Mayne?" George asked Vanish.
"Yeah. But the space ahead of us is dangerous, so carefully follow me." Vanish, who's real name was Mayne, replied.
Maybe raised his wrist where a watch was strapped on and tapped a few buttons. A screen appeared which showed a map of the city and multiple flashing red lights all over the place. Just a few hundred meters away from their current position was a bright blue light that blinked from time to time.
The five of them quickly left the basement and were welcomed by the harsh climate outside. Thanfkully, they wore their protective equipment while still inside the basement or they would've been roasted to death.
As they advanced through the dangerous ruins, they encountered numerous space cracks and time distortions that left them horrified. It was obvious that if a person came in contact with them, they'll immediately lose their lives. Thankfully, Mayne's map had a detector so they were able to keep their lives as they moved forward.
The destination wasn't that far yet the countless dangers slowed down their journey. Ths, it took them almost an hour just to reach their goal but what they witnessed next caused them to have ugly expressions.
In the distance, two groups that had body structures different from humans faced each other with hostility. They were the Fortisians and Fluctusans.
The Fortisians had bodies which didn't go below three meters tall. On their foreheads were two curved bone horns, and they had tails with sharp pointed ends.
The Fluctusans on the other hand, looked similar to humans except for the fact that their bodies were stripped off of other color, leaving only white. The only thing that were different were their eyes that changed in color from time to time.
These two groups were the cause of the major changes on Earth. They are alien races from the fourth dimension like the Excelcis race but unlike the Excelcises that ran to Earth from defeat, they came to seek something from their old enemy. Unfortunately, the humans were unluckily involved in their schemes.
The five Half-Excelcises quickly hid behind a collapsed building and covered their auras. They carefully peeked through the gaps in the walls and saw their objective.
A halo covered a meter above the ground. It emitted powerful energy fluctuations made it hard for the group from the Fluctusan and Fortisian race to approach it.
However, they held some kind of equipment that was strong enough to resist the force of the attacks. It was a large briefcase and it was pretty what was its purpose. They plan on taking this crystal halo for themselves.
Inside the building, Alexa and George couldn't help but clench thwir fists. It was exactly as what they had concluded before. It was really Kian's crystal halo. To think that the aliens were also interested in it. The only question was that, why was it here?
"Get your guns ready. We're going to join in once the chance arrives." Mayne said in a softer voice so that the people outside wouldn't be able to hear him.
The others nodded and complied to his orders. Alexa quickly fished out her concentration gun and shot a cold look towards the aliens outside. George and the others followed suit. They couldn't wait to join in on the battle.
In the distance, the Fluctusans and Fortisians locked gazes with each other, caution in their eyes. Although they worked together to enter the third dimension, in the end, they were still opposing races that had been in war for who knows how long.
The battle started quickly. The Fluctusans took out their concentration guys and fired hot rays of light towards the other party. Their innate racial ability associated with radiation was so destructive when concentrated that the rocks and buildings where it passed by were either destroyed or had melted.
Even with their strong bodies, the Fortisians didn't dare to carelessly meet the beams of light. They also took out their weapons which all had something in common. They were middle ranged weapons with pointed ends like spears, halberds, tridents, and whips.
The air shook as the two alien races fought. Meanwhile, the humans who secretly watched the battery could not help but narrow their eyes as a tremble shook their hearts. These aliens were terrifying. It seems that they were not merely simple type two civilizations but were the super strong ones instead.
As time passed, the battle reach its climax. A lot of the fighters clashed and fell. This made the two parties even more ferocious on their attacks.
Soon, the chance for the players to make their moves finally arrived.
