Underground laid the huge base that the Half-Excelcises and some humans used as a refuge from the two invading alien races. However, the previous peaceful atmosphere was now gone as red light that signified an emergency, shone everywhere.

The civilians were lead to a pods to slowly evacuate themselves. Meanwhile, the remaining excelcis and some people who decided to stay behind and slow down the enemies, marched towards the areas the aliens used to enter.

"We're completely surrounded!" a half-excelcis said, his face grim.

The secret base had at least ten secret doors but more than five of them were discovered. The enemies drilled these holes to make sure their troops can easily enter the base.

On the control room, Fidel and a few more people discussed amongst themselves as they watched the ongoing battle between the fortisians and fluctusans, and the humans. The atmosphere within the room was tense.

Currently, the number of Half-Excelcises who died were not low. There were some robots who kept the enemies busy but they wouldn't be last long with how fast they were being trampled on.

"Is there a signal yet from the others?" Fidel asked a man beside.

"None so far." the man replied, his face grim.

Fidel couldn't help but sigh. It had been days since the battle started. He didn't know how much long can they hold on.

A few kilometers away stood the colossal spider like fortress. Inside the huge infirmary's laid Kian who had been asleep for days. Besides him was Alexa who just arrived to check his condition.

Alexa sighed since there's still no change in Kian. According to the doctors, he was already fine but she still couldn't help but worry.

She couldn't help but think about the recent events. Right now, a lot of things happened and they badly needed his help.

Suddenly, she heard someone groan. Her eyes widened and she quickly approached Kian.

The young man's eyelids trembled and they slowly opened which revealed deep dark orbs.

"You're awake!" Alexa cheered and carefully held his hands in case she accidentally hurt him.

Kian tried to sit up, groaning while doing so. He leaned his back against the wall and sighed.

"Take it easy. Don't move around too much." Alexa said.

"It's okay. I'm fine." He said with a smile to ease her.

There was a silence between them. Neither of them spoke for a few minutes.

"S-so... Is Everything alright? I meant... You doing fine?" His words were awkward and his voice sometimes shook.

"Yeah." Alexa said and brought her head down.

Countless thoughts ran through head. After months of separation with no certainty of the other party's state, it feels as if a huge boulder was taken away from her back.

Alexa really wanted to tell him too many things but she remembered they were mostly things he would worry about. She wanted him to feel that she had matured and he had nothing to worry about. That's why she decided to stay silent.

Suddenly, she felt herself being pulled away from her seat before she landed on someone's chest. It was Kian who held her in his arms and hugged her tightly.

"You've been through a lot." Kian said, worry and guilt could be seen on his eyes as he did so.

Kian helped for conquest in finding a way to return back to Earth. Who knew that this was the result that would await them and he couldnt even do anything to protect his loved ones.

Alexa didn't reply to his words and just buried herself into his chest and silently let the hidden feelings leak out of her eyes.

They didn't say anything after that. A tranquil silence occupied the whole room as they tried to feel each other's warmth and heartbeat. All of the stress that had piled up for the past few years seemed to have been pushed away.

As the two laid on the bed in contentment, the door suddenly opened and revealed a man with a worried expression.

"Ms. Alexa, there's a-" His words stopped when he saw the young man who was still supposed to be asleep.

"Um..." He stood there in awkward silence.

"What is it?" Alexa reluctantly raised her head and asked the man with a furrowed eyebrows.

"It's bad. The people on the secret base are now leaving. The remaining half-excelcises were defeated and are now in the run too." He said.

Alexa and Kian were both shocked and worried. The secret base was now fallen?

"I'm going!" Kian declared and slowly stood up.

"But you just woke up!" Alexa dissuaded him with a tone of worry.

Kian shook his head. His body was now fully repaired and was even stronger than before. He just needed a little bit of stretching then he's all set to go and fight.

"Where are they headed?" Kian asked the man.

"W-well. They're headed here to request backup. It seems to be Sir Mayne's orders." the man respectfully answered.

"Then that makes things easier. Alexa, stay here and prepare the gates open. We're gonna welcome the others when I get back." He said with a confident smile and dashed to the hallways.

On the infirmary, Alexa and the man was left with shock in their which turned into worry. All they could do now was wait and hope that everything would be alright.
