The person's long silver hair flowed like water as the wind brushed past them. Her reddish blue eye crystals glistened in the sunlight together with the orbs of her eyes. It was actually Alexa, a player of Dimensional Heroes Online and at the same time, Kian's lover.

Her eyebrows met each other. With a click of a tongue, she reached out for the fallen helmet and put it back on her head. Just a few seconds of contact with the sunlight was already painful for her skin.

She didn't stay in lying in that position for too long and quickly stood up. A bone tail flew to her direction, its pointed end carrying a dangerous gleam. It hit the spot where she was at just now. A metal post that was hit was easily cut into two like butter.

Alexa couldn't help but sigh out of relief. She was just seconds away from being chopped vegetables.

She didn't dare do battle with them once again. Her legs moved like cheetah as she traversed this wilderness that was previously a bustling city.

However, her enemies weren't slower than her. Not long, they were already catching up.

A cold light flashed across her eyes. With agile fingers, she managed to open the metal briefcaes on her hand. It revealed a foot long gun quite similar to what Kain used back in the game. However, it lack the magical effects.

She took it out from the case and aimed it at the incoming enemies. Terrifying beams of concentrated psyche energies flew out of the muzzle and shot towards the enemies.

Unlike her previous attacks which was almost ignored by the enemies, this time, the bony creatures couldn't help but hiss in pain when the attacks landed upon them. Some of them even stopped and fell to their knees, their hands gripping their heads from the insane attack on the head.

Alexa's body slightly turned cold. Even an attack that could render her an idiot was not enough to kill them. However, she also saw a tint trace of hope that she could get out of this predicament. The only thing she had to worry about is her stamina and her psyche energy reserves.

She didn't stop but shot another burst of attacks. After that, she targeted a few buildings in the surroundings that quickly collapsed which made a huge cloud of dust cover the place.

It was a chance to escape. She quickly turned around and ran as fast as she could. However, the collapse of the buildings was not enough to get rid of the enemies.

The metals and concrete were thrown into the air. The five creatures appeared once again. They had blood dripping from the wounds they got. However, they didn't really suffer any major injuries that could take their life away.

"How strong are their bodies?" Her pupils shrank when she saw the scene. Even by being buried alive was still not enough to kill them!

Just as she was feeling despair, she suddenly saw a slight distortion in the space ahead that quietly disappeared in a moment. If she didn't saw it then she wouldn't know that it existed. A small smile formed on her thin lips.

She used the old buildings as a foothold to walk sideways like a parkour champ for a seconds and evaded that small area of distortion before she resumed her escape on the ground.

The five people followed her and didn't notice the distortion in the space. They only thought it was strange why she would waste extra energy for a move like that.

To their surprise, Alexa seemed to become faster than ever. The street also became longer than usual as if it really would lead to the infinite horizon.

It took a few minutes for them to realize that they had been tricked. They were actually in a field where space and time were distorted. That's why it feels like Alexa became faster and they became slow as turtles.

The five bony creatures couldn't help but scream frustration. How are they supposed to leave this place?

In the distance, Alexa smirked. She fired a few more attacks on the buildings and made them collapse just to make sure if the enemies could still leave.

Alexa took a few turns and detours before she entered a building on the verge of collapse. She descended to the basement and opened a large manhole. Strangely, it didn't lead to the dirty sewers but there was a metal pipe that resembled a children's slide instead.

After she made sure that no one else followed her, she got into the slide closed the lid. The next moment, gravity dragged her down.

A few minutes later, she arrived at a small room blocked by a huge vault.

"Open the door. It's me!" She said through the intercom.

A screen suddenly apepared above the vault. A familiar face carrying a look of surprise and joy, was revealed in the screen. It was George, Kian's best friend.

"You're safe!" George said, relief on his voice.

The vault shook as the locks were removed. It slowly opened and released cold mist. Alexa quickly entered and stepped into the metallic platform inside. Below the platform was a huge space where both Half-Excelcises and regular humans Gould be seen.

The vault behind her closed as she stepped off the oalfrom and used the stairs to go down.

Familiar faces welcomed her. There was Amy aside from George, and a few more players she was friends with.

A huge man with a hawk like eyes stepped forward. His eye crystals deep red, which indicated that his psyche energy levels was way past what a regular excelcis normally had.

"Did you get it? " He asked Alexa.

Alexa nodded her head and threw the briefcase towards him which he easily caught with one hand. After that, she landed on the sofa and took a deep breath.

"It's o dangerous outside nowadays. It's super hot too!" She said with a groan.

A face hovered over her which slightly blocked the light. The face came from a girl with a short silver hair. It was Amy.

"Wanna take a bath?" Amy asked.

"Sure." Alexa nodded and followed her to the huge bath in a different room.

I thought it would be a short chapter. Turns out it's longer than usual.
