Hello all! And welcome to my newest book! I'm really proud of the book cover, took me forever. Anywho, I'm starting to name my chapters now and I will keep everyone updated with the writing progress of my books in my bio! I'm trying to be more active, 'ya know? I'll also be attempting to write a hell of a lot more per chapter :)
One more note! In this book Shigaraki is 25, not 20.
Anyway! Let's get into the chapter! And don't forget to leave a comment! I love all of your reactions and feedback!
- Chapter 1: Days Gone Bye -
Sunako clicked through the abundance of TV channels, attempting to find anything that caught her interest and took her thoughts away from work and her inability to sleep (which was far from uncommon). Shifting the warm blanket on her lap, she sat forward slightly as her channel surfing inevitably brought her to the news channel much to her dismay. She hated the news, everything was always so depressing (or violent). Sunako couldn't remember the last time she saw something genuinely good happening in the world, it was all negative, so she did the logical thing and just avoided the media as much as she possibly could.
The blue eyed female sat back against the plush fabric of her small couch as the news replayed clips from the other day's chaos. It's sorta amazing to think that a small group of people can actually cause such an up roar, but what can 'ya do? The shaky clips showed burning buildings and people fleeing for safety only to be caught by the bird like monsters. Are they actually monsters or are they just people with heteromorphic quirks? Sunako sighed heavily as she continued to gaze upon the illuminated television screen, it was the only source of light in the tidy living room. Sunako's house was quaint and small. She was only one person and had no desire to have more than what she needed; one bedroom, one bathroom, and an adjoined kitchen and living room. Most people wouldn't enjoy the compactness, but the ravenette found it cozy and a perfect escape from work and the outside world (and work). Sunako glanced out the window beside her. The world outside was still and peaceful, almost like it had been frozen in time. The incident took place in Hosu, just West of Tokyo and a bit away from Sunako's quiet town, Meguro, which was also outside Tokyo, work took her South of the bustling capital. Work would be hell tomorrow thanks to the villain attack. Honestly, will I ever catch a break? The sapphire eyed woman mentally groaned at the thought of work being busier that it already was. She resumed watching the replay compilation.
Pro heroes had just arrived on scene and some people cheered for the arrival of their safety. The clips kept jumping around in an attempt to avoid screening any casualties to the public (though Sunako was sure she could find the uncut footage online if she really wanted to). Leaning forward, she retrieved the small remote from the wooden coffee table. As the small plastic controller came into her grasp, the news switched to a different clip showing a tall, lean man in a black trench coat covered in severed hands. The mobile phone camera zoomed in on the blue haired male's face. Sunako squinted a bit and leaned in to get a better look. His skin was atrocious and his eyes held a psychotic craze that could scare anyone shitless. Another thing Sunako noted was that he was bleeding or at least covered in someone else's blood, which wasn't improbable. He's injured and STILL trying? Jeez... Some just don't know when to quit. A shiver ran down Sunako's spine and she clicked the TV off and dropped the remote onto the cushion beside her before she stood up, leaving her blanket behind.
The long haired female loitered around in the dark of her living room for a few drawn out moments before heading towards the bathroom to wash up before bed. If it's 12:23pm and I need to get up at 7am, then that means I have 1, 2, 3 - about seven and a half hours to sleep. That should be enough. That is, if I can actually sleep, but still not too bad. Not too bad. Sunako switched the sink on and waited a few moments for the water to warm up before she could comfortably wash her tired, oil covered face. If it wasn't for bills and he need to eat she would've quit a lifetime ago.
