On a starry evening, I walked down a dimly lit road. A lot of people were walking alongside me as we continue on to a straight path.
On the end of the path leads to a forest that seems to be full of wonder and surprises.
Others are scared while some are full of excitement just like I am. Those who were eager to explore the unknown woods went on ahead while some took their time, there were also others who went back.
Not knowing that we were blind to see the danger that lurks in the darkness.
Upon entering the forest, we were shocked to see that the path was separated. Unlike before where we didn't have to choose which one to take because we already knew where were going however now that we've entered the forest, we don't know which path to take, which one is right or safe, or where exactly we're heading. All we know is that we have to get out of here.
For each and every path we take, it was always divided into more different paths and the deeper we dwell into the forest, the more dangerous it gets.
At the first moment, we took a step in the forest. We all had the same pace but as time pass by some were faster, others were left behind, while others ran after those who were in the lead not wanting to be left behind and course there were others who entirely gave up on choosing paths and getting out of the forest.
We were all children who walked into an unknown area where we knew nothing. We were confused, lost, scared, and also excited about what lies ahead of us.
You see, I desperately wanted to get out. I didn't want to stay any second longer in that damn cursed forest. I wanted to be ahead out of everyone else. I didn't care anymore, my head wasn't properly working but what I didn't know is that we weren't the only one in the forest.
I tried to take the shortest way, the easy way or what they call a shortcut. I should have listened when they told me to stay on the path. Unfortunately, I didn't so I ran out of the path and tried to get out.
As expected, things started getting sour. As I reached out towards the goal, I get pulled deeper and deeper into the woods. No matter how long I walk and how fast I ran, I was just going in circles. As night falls, the howling of the beast gets louder, the cries of the broken souls shriek through the darkness and the laughter of the demons gets stronger.
Those who stayed in the path managed to get out however I didn't, I was trapped by the forest for breaking its rule and going off the path.
A number of days passed by, as I await the day where I will be rescued or left here to rot.
Only God alone can tell.
