“Family or not your tongues speak in insulting manner towards your king. Unhand her, Yun. You are dismissed. As for you Jin, you speak about matters you don’t know. You would have me punish another because we didn’t know who this woman was? Do you believe us to be mind readers? Did you know who she was when you met her? I think not, so shut your mouth while the adults speak. You’re being a brat when I was offering for this woman to teach you. I find the lot of you ungrateful and my patience is wearing thin if you all insist upon neglecting who is the Pharaoh.”
Jin tensed. "I am angry you allowed her to be sent away all. Why is you and our brothers are allowed to very be touched by so many in such places. But the one who only touched my hand to teach me is to be punished would and in such a vile manner?" He really didn’t understand it at all. And at 10 how could he? He was a prince and not even a teacher in public eye could touch him in a nonsexual way. Yet as pharaoh he was touched openly in all kinds of ways.
Yun smirked. And whispered to her before allowing her turn and look at the group yet again. "Fine brother. But I doubt she is willing to stay anywhere, when she is no longer dressed properly and a bruise upon her throat while her attackers are still here. I was merely trying to make you look like a gracious man." That was only partially true.
But Shelyn stared down the pharaoh. But again she found herself angry. "I have no intentions on staying here. To talk to you or your concubines. I came to share something beautiful with you and your guests, for a day so many say is wonderful. It was my gift to your young prince. Something as beautiful as music. Something not many are blessed with. But I will not stay for being punished would for thinking that sharing a wonderful thing was accepted. I do not regret calling her a whore. I’m sure you, pharaoh will not be the only to use such a fake woman. I called myself a blessing. And told her that even a pharaoh wouldn’t dare defile the purity of such a very sacred person such as a nun, like myself. I told her the goddess Shelyn would not hesitate to send her wrath upon those who defile and torment her blessed ones. These are no threats. I will not apologize for speaking my truths. I am blessed by beauty and music and nature. By the goddess I bare the name of. It is you, pharaoh, who neglected the safety of those in your care."
Truths. Yet even now her tone wasn’t a hiss or filled with hatred. It was more of a scolding tone like he had with Jin. Someone had to open his eyes to the fact that his servants acted without permission. And risked him being thrown into war.
"Who I am shouldn’t matter. And brushing my assault under the rug because I didn’t announce myself upon a day for your prince is no excuse either. Had I died a war would still run through your towns. No matter if I announce my status..."
“Then you should have spoken up. It is as simple as that. Jin, to us it looked as if a stranger had touched your hand. Do you not know how risky it is to be of the status that we are? That it takes one pin prick and you could end up poisoned? She was a stranger, she came here unannounced, and as such she was treated just as any other commoner would. As for you Shelyn, you’re going to pass judgment and ‘wrath’ upon a kingdom because you neglected to inform us of who you were? You not only came unannounced, but dared touch a prince. How were we supposed to know who you were? You can blame myself or my concubine all you want, but the fact of the matter is if you were a commoner then this wouldn’t even be an issue. The fault, in my eyes, is upon you and not stating who you were and making proper introductions, which is an insult in itself to attend a party permitted by me and not first making introductions. If you have no intentions upon staying here then you may pick up your instrument and leave my kingdom at once. To pass blame onto my concubine when for all she knew you were spewing lies is just ridiculous. You should have had proper papers and made yourself known and instead you broke a law. I’m not going to apologize for something that could have been avoided had we only known who you were. If your god wishes to unleash its wrath upon us then so be it. You /weren’t/ in my care because you didn’t think to inform the pharaoh of you attendance beforehand. To say who you are shouldn’t matter is ridiculous, if you were a commoner you could have been raped and killed and NO ONE would give a fuck.”
