Calion waited before sighing lightly. “You don’t need to speak, just come, walk with me, I promise we won’t go far, I’m sure they’ll update us if anything changes.” He said, knowing she probably would hate the idea, but he was more focused upon making sure her parents wouldn’t end up distracted.
Shelyn allowed herself to be pulled away by Calion. But she couldn’t stop her tears. She couldn’t stop the fear of losing her dear brother.
Yun and Jin had settled outside. Where palace steps met the river water. Trying to play the instrument Jin kept from Shelyn.
"Why won’t you let me in to be with him?" She stopped and looked at Calion through tears. He singles handedly held the power to let her in. Any of the princes lacked this power. "I could be in there helping. What if they miss something? What if he wakes up?" All she wanted was to be there at his side. "He needs me there..."
It seemed this was taking forever. Stitching. Washing. Bandaging. Removing fragments of sand and dirt. Jessica was more level than her husband, Elliot. Elliot was torn seeing his son in such a state. He felt horrible for letting his only son take on such a career. He felt it his fault. Yet Jessica was focused under the pressure. She needed her son to live.
Calion rose a warm palm and cupped it against her cheek, wiping away the tears beneath her eye as he paused and looked upon her for a moment. Biting his inner cheek. “I took you away because how do you think your appearance will affect your parents? Don’t you think they know that is their son they are trying to save? If it was *anyone* else, they would be working to save a life regardless of who it was. But this is their son, do you not think their hearts are on the verge of breaking seeing him in such a state? They’re clearly trying to put that out of their mind. You… Shelyn, and I don’t mean to be harsh, but you would be a distraction to them and in the end… put your brother at more risk because of it.”
He released his palm from her cheek and reached down to take her hands, looking deep within her eyes. “I don’t want to see him perish, because I don’t want to see you cry and become heart broken. This is why I took you away… so they could concentrate, but…” Calion bit his bottom lip. “I would be willing to allow you to enter under a few conditions. Firstly, you need to remain quiet. No tears, no sobs. You can just watch and let your parents do their thing. Secondly you will spend the night with me. My room, my bed. Shared, nothing else. We can have it take place tomorrow, since I’m sure you’ll be wanting to spend the night in his room until he wakes up. That is what I ask and if you truly want to be there and witness what takes place, I don’t imagine my little condition will be enough to dissuade you.”
Shelyn didn’t care if she had to give him her first-born son at this point. She nodded quickly and silently. Anything if it meant she could be there with Helm. She wiped her own tears. Desperate to calm herself.
Taking just a few moments maybe 30mins at least to calm down and stop her racing heart. She felt sick to her stomach. Of course, she had not eaten since early when Jin fed her his breakfast. But she couldn’t eat and wouldn’t mention it.
Once fully calm she sighed. Looking to Calion calmly. Her eyes puffy and red but at least she wasn’t crying anymore. Now an hour has passed, and she was fully calm.
Calion waited patiently for her to calm down. After all he was going to make quite certain by the following night she upheld her part of the bargain, but he was concerned for Helm as well as how her demeanor may affect her parents, so it was only when her sobs subsided and he believed she was ready that he finally took her hand and led her back towards the recovery room. It only took a look from his eyes before the guards stepped aside and let the two in as they clearly weren’t going to take no for an answer.
Calion sat off on a chair against the wall as he let go of Shelyn’s hand. He would let her get as close to Helm as she liked, although if her parents felt she would do better getting out of the way a bit he would have no issues in grabbing her hand and having her take a seat next to him. Patiently he waited, his grey eyes studying the scene at hand. He didn’t think it would be proper for a Pharaoh to sleep when one of his most decorated soldiers were in a life-threatening situation, not to mention… he didn’t think Shelyn would appreciate him falling asleep at such a moment either.
Jin and Yun were informed of the situation. Jin only wanted to go find her and Yun insisted Jin kept his study going. And continued instructing him.
Shelyn stayed silent. Though she hesitated even leaving Calion. It took her another 24mintues just to work up the courage to step closer. She felt so powerless. But she kept back out the way.
Her parents finally finished at sunset. And moved Helm to a more comfortable bed. They excused themselves to get home and change. Then left.
Shelyn sat at her brothers’ side. Gently taking his hand. She rubbed his fingers. Whimpering to him and completely forgetting she had not eaten. Or that Calion was there too. It didn’t matter. Not right now.
Calion breathed a silent sigh of relief when her parents finally wrapped Helm up and pieced him back together. He assumed that since they left that all that could be done had been done otherwise, they would not be resting if there was still work to be finished.

He sat patiently in the new room after Helm was moved, watching the back of Shelyn as she worriedly held onto her brother’s hand as the sun was beginning to fall. He took the opportunity to sneak out silently assuming she wouldn’t even notice.
Calion was gone for approximately half an hour, passing by Jin and Yun and informing them that the surgery and medical care had been successful. But all that they could do now is monitor him and hope that he wakes. Calion told Jin that he would tell Shelyn that he wanted to see her, but for now told his younger brother that she needs some time alone with her brother to sort things out. When he finally returned to the recovery room, he held a tray in his hands with a platter of different foods considering he figured she’d end up starving all night not leaving the room if he didn’t bring anything.
