Mr. spoke first. "We were hoping to catch you. Forgive up but may we see Shelyn? We would prefer she hear the news from us.."
Mrs. nodded. "Yes...I assume she might be fairly upset if she hears it last minute that we are taking Helm home."
They wanted him stay in the room when they told her. At least he could use guards to keep her away from Helm as he was moved.
The pharaoh tiredly paused and clenched his jaw wondering if Shelyn would ultimately end up blaming him for the news she was about to hear. Even so… he assumed that if she got too upset with him she would in time grow to get over it. It’s not as if he’d keep her from her brother forever. “I do not mind, please go ahead.” Calion said.
The scene must have looked odd to Shelyn, after all he had just left and now, he was returning but with her parents right behind as he moved to take a seat off to the side giving her parents the opportunity to inform Shelyn of the arrangement. That the Pharaoh would be fronting the costs under the condition Shelyn would remain in the palace. A fair enough trade although… the pharaoh might have other reasons as to wanting her to stay.
Elliot started. “Shelyn we are going to be bring him home today.” Afterwards Jessica followed up. “And you’re going to stay here until he has gotten well enough.”
It was like glass broke. And Shelyn’s world was completely shattered.
Other medical help soon entered with another bed and moved in beside Helm and were preparing to move him.
Shelyn did everything to stop them. Protesting with no and you can’t.
Her father tried to be stern about her allowing them to move him and stop being so selfish.
Her mother stepped aside unable to watch.
"N..o you can’t what if he needs me!?"
"Only thing he needs is to get better help. You know we can’t afford to bring everything here just because you can’t let him go.!"
Shelyn was in utter sobs at this point. Continuing to argue that she was perfectly capable of caring for him until they got back.
Her father became annoyed. Slapping her. Which caused everything to fall silent for a moment before he spoke again.
His voice angry and deep even in this old age. "Enough is enough! Be grateful you have been asked to stay. That the pharaoh is kind enough to even help us care for him. Stop being a spoiled child and for once think of someone else!"
Shelyn felt her face burning. Her world was completely coming to an end. She watched as they lifted Helm into the second bed. She was desperate. She turned to Calion and neared him. Begging at this point.
"Please! Don’t let him go! I will do anything if you make them keep him here! Please! Just don’t let them take him away again! I’ll work off the money to bring the devices back. Anything if you let Helm stay here... please! I won’t fight you about staying if you just don’t let them take him away!" Desperate times call for desperate measures. She couldn’t let him go. As unhealthy as it seemed she couldn’t.
